Why in the hell ARE they on a scooter? Makes no sense! Unless Norwich think they are playing in Serie A? And surely they should wear a helmet? Safety first kids.

Hopefully it'll start a trend of footballers in new kits on strange forms of transport: new Leeds kit modelled by midfielder windsurfing, a striker from QPR on a skateboard, that kind of thing...

Standard and safe Norwich City shirt. It isn't that exciting but is by no means unpleasant. A safe shirt is probably the best way to go when you're the new boys in the league and a good candidate for relegation (I hope they prove me wrong). The most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time was a few seasons ago when Sunderland got relegated, picking up a record low points tally at that time (I think Derby did even worse than them a season or so later), while swanning around in fancy Nike shirts.

Sunderland were 'swanning around in fancy Nike shirts' at that time because, following their two consecutive 7th place finishes, they signed a deal with Nike who were following a policy of signing deals with all of the up and coming sides in the country (and possibly Europe). Leeds signed a deal with Nike for the same reasons at approximately the same time.

What a stupid thing to say, the quality of shirt has no bearing on the quality of the team.

Yea, good one mate, you should think before you open your mouth.

Why is it we tend to see top teams getting top brands and lesser teams getting lesser brands (or having top brands but having them supplied by a third party or just get a really crap boring template design from Adidas)

I'm not a big Nike or Adidas whore by any means and am more than happy to look at some of the smaller brands when they do a good job, but more often than not (Carbini, Burda...) the results are okay but a bit cheap looking.

And that's not to say that the big clubs don't have some shockers as well (new Newcastle home kit for example) but they generally tend to get the nicer, better made stuff.

So using that logic you presumably think its equally daft having your kit supplied by a smaller company and then playing well? Your understanding of football is rather lacking isn't it? It would be very tedious if it actually worked like that.

Sunderland got Nike kits because they get big crowdsgoing to watch them. They got an average of 40000 this season! They club have not won anything for years but they have a huge fan base! Norwich don't have this and that's probably why they got errea. No disrespect to Norwich, I hope they do well but the difference between them and Sunderland is the size of the clubs, Sunderland are big and always do well with shirt sales, that's why Umbro have stuck with them for five years now.

Going to have to agree with MUFC here like mate, as much as I hate to say it as I am a Newcastle fan, Sunderland are a big club! Look at there attendances, they are also one of the best away supporters in the country selling out full allocations. If Norwich had a 49000 stadium like Sunderland do would they get a lot more than 27000? I don't think they would. Not including Middlesbrough who's fans are shit who have hardly any fans at all, the big two, Sunderland and Newcastle have the best support in the country. The north east is football mad and I don't think people outside the north east truley know how big Sunderland and Newcastle really are! In terms of winning things, I agree, it's been a while but in terms of support we are both up there as one of the biggest! Imagine if we won things!!!

they're the only league team for about 40 or 50 miles in any direction and recently they've be looking at expanding their stadium to at least 35,000 seats, they aren't as bigger club as sunderland granted, but they'd have no trouble selling out a 40,000 seater stadium in the prem

I believe that was the original intent of the uniforms. While the other teams are going "Argh! My eyes!", they'll have booted the ball in once or twice.

Plus there's the added bonus of looking unique among the rest of the premiership teams. That's always good for marketing.

Really nice, clean and classy looking kit.
The sponsor logo does look quite big, but it seems to work well with the shirt and I cannot see the problem with the badge.

I have just watched the video and it is very good; nice to see some humour in a kit launch for a change, rather than players strutting around trying to look tough.

Historically we've always had lame kits, so this is probably the best of a bad bunch in years. Can't disagree with the sentiments expressed by others; basic but pretty smart, the white trim looks a bit odd, logo too big (but at least its a decent sponsor with an association with the City) and badge doesn't look quite right. When I saw that dreadful Errera effort for Mansfield yesterday I feared the worst, so am pleasantly surprised with this number. As for the predictable relegation comments, there is a quiet and informed confidence building in canaryland that we will hold our own next season - in Lambert we trust - watch this space ....

Holty does look a bit like he's bought his son (Wessi) a scooter for his birthday, the two of them should play in a father-son team, they could definitely pull it off.

Regarding the kit, i bloody love it, nice clean simple lines, no stupid fussy little blobs or stripes, has a retro feel to it and the v-neck is cool as well, haven't had one of them in a while.

We all love a bit of Norwich City and I'm glad they're back where they belong.

Anyways on the kit, it's nice, I woulda loved to have seen last season's XARA one in the Premiership, but I'm glad they've kept hold of this shade of yellow, it's usually a darker shade and this seems more bright and stands out more under the floodlights.

AVIVA logo and City crest is a bit big, but doesnt spoil a good looking kit...FIT FOR THE PREMIERSHIP

The phrase 'make the logo smaller' is well known in the design circle, companys seem to think the larger the logo the more it'll be noticed. That's not always the case, and doesn't do much good for their aesthetics.

FA Regs state max 200 sq cm, so every front shirt sponsor logo has the same footprint, just a different perimeter shape. Is that well know in design circles?

+2 # 2011-06-09 09:33
FACT: Sponsors want their logo highly visible to the zillions watching on Sky TV. The few thousand that will buy a replica shirt are relatively insignificant in the greater scheme of things.
Why do you think the Champions League require the first five rows to be free of spectators?... Because the UCL is basically a competition designed for the TV and to maximise sponsor recognition their advertising hoardings are much larger than standard Prem League boards and impede the views of spectators seated behind.
Aesthetics are for art students...Marketing drives profit..

Very stylish with an mid eighties style collar/cuffs. The white offsets the yellow and green very well. The sponsor and crest is unfortunately out of character with the shirts styling and they need to update the nearly 40 year old crest IMO.

Really nice kit, but the background flag is an awful choice.

I don't know why so many clubs use Errea. They use cheap, shiny fabric and all their shirts pull across the middle--just what you don't want to see on the average paunchy fan. Disgusting kit maker.

After initially fancying a 'big' kit supplier and I was a little disappointed but this has really grown on me. Simple, Retro and original looking kit. (even if the sponsor is a little in the large side and carries too much 'scum blue')

Far better than some overused template from Adidas, Nike or Puma!

Sponsorship isn't too bad as Aviva use yellow as their background anyway. Nice, simple kit.

Derby got 7 points with Adidas (4 draws 1 win VS MAN CITY and 33 losses )

The win was against big club Newcastle. Cost Fat Sam his job.

Mopeds were invented in Norwich in 1962 by Bob Vespa. He also invented glue, cheese and Lego.

He died a penniless tramp in 1978 due to his addiction to strong cheddar.

He's a tramp. Moped-football still doesn't work. If I were Delia Smith, I'd forget the moped and just encorporate Norwich's new kit into one of my waitrose adverts

Great kit have pre-ordered it with the Premiership badges on....on that an Ipswich Town supporting friend asked me where the stars were on the new shirt to represent the trophies we had won...I replied with 'I don't know mate but the Prem badges will look good on it, needless to say I haven't heard from him since!' lol

Surprisingly nice considering I've always thought that Norwich have arguably the worst colour scheme in the country, but maybe it's just the cheap kits they've had over the past few years. Errea have done a nice job with this, but you won't be seeing your failed record signing in this, as Snodgrass will be back in all white next season , so you'll have to settle with crappy Bradley Johnson instead, oh how disappointed you'll be.

haha good point! but i do think Lambert gets the best out of players and if Johnson is prepared to give 110% then he could turn out to be a good player, you may laugh now as you've watched him more than me but he's made Russell Martin (unwanted in the championship with Peterborough 2 years ago) into our 2nd player of the season and probably best RB in the championship from last season! oh and a premier league RB from a league 1 one
