Portsmouth 11-12 kappa away football shirt

This is the new Portsmouth FC 2011/12 away kit made by Kappa. The shirt – which is black with a blue trim – will first be worn when the Blues take on Chelsea in a pre-season friendly at Fratton Park on Saturday, July 16.

The back of the neck bears the legend "Zeal Does Not Rest" - the motto of HMS Ark Royal since 1921, which has its origins in Lord Howard of Effingham's victory over the Spanish Armada in 1588. The shirt features white Omini logos to both shoulders.

Fabrication is 92% Polyester/8% Spandex, featuring Scotchgard technology which wicks moisture away from the skin while maintaining breatheability.

Adult short-sleeve shirts cost £40 with long-sleeve tops available for £45. Ladies shirts are priced at £40 with junior tops costing £30. Shorts are priced at £20 for adults and £16 for juniors with socks costing £10 for adults and £6 for juniors.

Thanks to Figaro and Mudster

The sponsor looks pretty high up on the chest, but it's fine. Not bad, all black with blue looks very nice and intimidating.

Probably so they have alternative socks for the home kit, for when they need to change them when they are playing away too Barnsley for example.

kappa has a pretty decent kits but I really don't like these big logos on the sleeves...same thing with puma...one logo is enough...it's not kappa FC or Puma United FC..you are simply a manufacturer and we all know your name...football shirts are not the right place to oversponsor yourself...

Nice kit kappa are doing well in recent designs and one of few where the big logos on the sleeves doesn't bother, unlike macron kits. Similar to last seasons 3rd choice which was also a nice kit, will be good to see pompey back in prem

King Warrior likes it : 8 out of 10!!!!!

For any Pompey fans out there : Dave Nugent has had offers from Burnley and Wigan. He's pondering which move to make! But he won't wear this fine shirt next year!

King Warrior also says : I'm the Waz and I'm awesommmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
Peace!

Portsmouth would have to have the jobsite logo as a sponsor, it was either jobsite or the dole, hard choice

What is the difference between that and their third kit from last season?

The difference is that the new kit have been made with a new technology and the blue sides.

they are some huge changes to a black kit. you wouldn't even notice the new material or the blue sides if you stood with your hands by your sides

As a kit it looks good but God alive haven't we had enough of black away kits.
First choice away kit should be white shirt, blue shorts and white socks and the third strip maybe something unusual.
Say orange shirts, shorts and socks with blue trim.
Anything but all black!!!

nice.. a regularly used template by kappa, but its a good'n. the border surrounding the badge.. its like a badge inside a badge.. inception badge. nice kit though. kappa have done themselves another very subtle, underrated favour. kudos

same old tripe from pompey ripping of fans for the 4th season running same black & blue just like are wallets that have been taking battering because they bring out 3 new kits every season and know the kids will want them

+3 # 2011-06-25 12:04
What and no other team brings out 3 kits every season? Well all I can think of is every premier league side and most of the english clubs?. Pompey may have had trouble with Money but a new kit keeps stability in the club. More money from sponsors etc
