Portsmouth 11-12 kappa third football shirt

Pompey have revealed the club’s third kit for the 2011/12 campaign. The Kappa kit consists of a black and red shirt, reminiscent of the popular away strip worn during the mid-1990s. It is accompanied by red shorts and black socks.

Like the home and away kits, the back of the neck bears the legend "Zeal Does Not Rest" - the motto of HMS Ark Royal since 1921, which has its origins in Lord Howard of Effingham's victory over the Spanish Armada in 1588. The shirt features gold Omini logos to both shoulders.

Fabrication is 92% Polyester/8% Spandex, featuring Scotchgard technology which wicks moisture away from the skin while maintaining breatheability.

Adult short-sleeve shirts cost £40, with long-sleeve tops available for £45. Ladies shirts are priced at £40 with junior tops costing £30. Shorts can also be bought, costing £20 for adults and £16 for juniors, with socks priced at £10 for adults and £6 for juniors.

It will be on sale in the Pompey stores in Fratton Way and Cascades on Thursday, September 22, when it will also be delivered to customers who have pre-ordered.

Thanks to Celestine and Alan

Kappa should cease making football kits, I have never seen a decent design out of them.

this is one of those tops that the sweaty git like me, if i was wearing it, would look ridiculous! i'd look like an elephant had pissed all over me. that fabric, although it draws the moisture away looks like you've just been through an attitude magazine's wet football shirt competition.

At first I though Harvey Dent had signed for Pompey but then I saw the shorts, disappointed they're not half red half black

Why didn't Portsmouth just come up with a more radical away kit?

Why have three?

Oh wait, they're skint...

This kit would have been good if it wasn't for the fact that the away kit is black.

What will Pompey wear at Millwall then? Last year's away kit with the pink in it?

I think you'll find we have been bought by Convers Sports from Russia who are certainly not skint!!!
Portsmouth are now doing things properly and are buying players we can afford not spunking millions on average players like Leicester City are doing.
As for the kit.Pompey's colours are blue, white and RED,hence the away kit over the years has been red.
What I think is cack is having a black away strip trimmed with blue and then a third kit with a lot of black in it.WTF???

why did they wear this kit today at West Ham?

The red and the black together clashed quite bad with the claret I thought. They should have worn the blue or the black kit there.

If you consider Villa wore their home shirts at Goodison it seems ludicrous that Pompey didn't stick with their home shirt.

would benefit from the black being replaced with red and then maybe some white vertical stripes of equal width to the remaining red. also replace erroneous star and crescent detail with a design incorporating a halo, ball, scarf in same colour as redesigned shirt.....
