preston north end 11-12 puma home kit

Preston North End's new 11/12 PUMA home strip has been officially unveiled.

Evoking a striking sense of style, North End have opted for a combination of white shirts, shorts and socks for 2011/12, all neatly tailored with navy trim to produce a strip that will look outstanding on the field and classy on the terraces.

The return of a navy collar on the shirt could also prove a good omen for the upcoming season.

Both of the last two seasons that the home kit has featured a collar, the Club has reached the Play-Off Final; and with Phil Brown stating at the end of last season that nothing less than top spot will be good enough for him, he will be hoping it is a winning strip.

Providing the most noticeable contrast possible, the away strip is an all-black affair with white trim and gold embroidery - a look that will set North End apart on the road.

Both kits feature two stripes on each shoulder, the inspiration for which is explained by Warren Bennett, PNE's retail manager.

Lilywhites manager Phil Brown, having seen the kit, was delighted and hoped that the style on the pitch would match that worn by the players. He said: "The all white kit is fantastic and we all hope it is a winning kit.

"We want our players and fans to wear the Preston North End and PUMA shirt with pride in 2011/12 and the players effort and determination on the field will no doubt be matched by thousands of fans wearing the kit off it, all working together to achieve our aim of winning League One next season.

"PUMA is a traditional football brand with history and heritage, just like Preston North End and we hope to write another chapter of both their stories next season."

Roger Harrison, Head of Marketing at PUMA added: "This is a fantastic looking kit, and I too hope the design proves a good omen for all those concerned at the Club."

Whilst genesissports' Russell Thomas commented: "We are really happy with the style and quality of this new strip and I'm confident the Preston supporters will be too."

The new home kit, which will go on general release at 9am Saturday 25th June, is available to pre-order now online.

Details of the away kit launch will follow shortly, with that strip planned to hit the shelves later in July.

Thanks to Mick and Luke

I'd say a team that cant defend @hit, is a poor excuse for a team... yeah you played nice football, but isnt the defence a pretty important part too... with out Adam and the 'good' ie (sellable) part of your team, cant see b'pool ever coming back up.

Two stripes AGAIN from Puma.
"One more stripe and you're out !" says the Adidas umpire.

I know it's about paying homage to Cruyff's loyalty to Puma with the two stripes, but this idea has been overdone.

At least the girl is waaay better looking than the girls in the St Mirren kit.

The shirt's not bad although PNE obviously couldn't decide which sponsor logo to use.

+5 # 2011-05-30 19:14
Blackpool has a shadow? That must be one obscure strip of shade; Preston - the home of football versus a one-season flash-in-the-pan club who, as of yet, have failed to do anything noteworthy. As a neutral who has no interest particularly in either club it beggars belief that after a meer ONE season of relative success you Tangerines consider yourselves 'successful'... for what it's worth, I think you should check the meaning of 'success'; you failed to stay up ergo you are hardly in a position to brag.
