Back in February we already showed you a leaked picture, and today PSV officially revealed the new PSV 11-12 away shirt from Nike. The away shirt features a checkered pattern in the colours philips-blue and black. The back of the shirt is solid blue and the sleeves are solid black.
On the inside of the shirt, the club slogan " Eendracht maakt macht " - " Unity creates strength " is printed.
PSV wanted to have an outfit with its own identity. While developing the shirt they looked at trends in fashion, in which symmetrical tessellations are also an important design component. They also listened to the wishes of supporters, and the designers of Nike in a private consultation with PSV.
The new away shirt is available from July 2.

it's confusing..
I think it's a gas. N.
Freo is a loaning company in the Netherlands and also back sponsor of PSV , nice shirt but i guess the black one was nicer still a way better away shirt than than Ajax
Psv needed an extra sponsor for more income and therefore they got Freo, so they just have 2 sponsors
Apart from the template: Blue(Philips)/Black is nice for a psv-away-kit. In combination with the Red/White home-kit.
red/white checkers on the sleeve and blue and black on the front
but NO checkers on the back...
But at least the stars are embroidered!
Unlike the 3 stars Ajax got which will be PRINTED on the shirts, simply because adidas already made the shirts...
No checks on the back due to annoying FIFA (we are not corrupt, honest) regulations, same with striped shirts and hooped ones, you aint allowed them on the back. Talk about ruining certain clubs traditions. Thanks Blatter.
I remember from just this past season that WBA had stripes on the back of their jersey and that Celtic had their hoops all around their shirt.
This means that it is a club decision to decide, with their kit manufacturer, what design they are going to use on their jerseys.
FIFA doesn't have anything to do with that.
I may be wrong and it is UEFA, however in European competitions clubs have to have a clear back to the shirt.
Juventus, PSV, Barcelona, Sporting Lisbon, Shakhtar and others all had panels to the rear of their kits last season, as did numerous league teams in England.
If the contrast between the stripes/hoops colours is too high, there has to be a solid back for the numbers. But if the contrast between the colours is less that specified, UEFA tolerates that no solid back is needed.

I think I'd rather have the 3 stars
People have thier own opinions but most of the time thier comments are down to who they support rather than reviewin the shirt in question.
Yeah for sure. Away kits SHOULD be mental.
Freo is the name of the player or the sponsor?
it's confusing..
if freo was the players name...there wouldnt be two smaller letter o's on top of the name
This club is from The Netherlands the best club!
And Lens is a player, Freo is a sponsor!
Love it!
I don't like this shirt though.
Mate, I am a United fan too but PSV arent losers. You obviously dont remember them beating us 3-1 about 10 years back. They are a good team. Stop being bitter.
As an attempt by Nike to finally come up with something different, it is a great move.
I'll swoop this one though!
- Player name at the bottom of shirt
- Does it a south american club shirt?
So it's not Villa's shirt then is it.
