rangers 11-12 umbro home kit

Rangers stars Kirk Broadfoot and Kyle Hutton have come together this morning to unveil the club's new home kit for season 2011/1, which will be available here.

The new shirt in traditional Rangers blue was designed following in-depth discussions with fans' groups.

It also features a classic white V-neck collar and has white and red detail at both shoulders.

The top is complimented by traditional Rangers black socks with red trims and the classic white shorts have blue side detail.

Adult short sleeve shirts, available in sizes S-XXXXXL, are £44.99 and junior* short sleeve shirts, available in 6-7-XLB, are £34.99.

The new Rangers 2011/12 Home kit will go on sale from Thursday 12 May.

Thanks to Dan

Similar to a strip they had a couple of years back. Lazy effort again by umbro. I guess its going to be another 3 average strips for them next season.

Umbro's 11/12 kits are looking pretty sharp, and this one in particular looks good. Fairly simple details but quite modern looking. The Rangers badge is also bigger than the one on the current shirt and works well.

Cross between the template that Hearts and West Ham had last season, and the Rangers kit of 08/09

It's just a blue shirt. How can it be good or bad? There's nothing you can really do with it.

Kind of reflects the SPL if I'm honest...

Looks similar to the one from the 08-09 season. It's not bad but I've seen better, still, I guess this shirt will grow on me.

This year's shirt is an absolute classic though :)

Why do the badge have o many stars around it?
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

+4 # 2011-04-18 19:11
1 star for every 10 titles they have won. In total 53 titles but we have to wait until 60 to get the next star.
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

-3 # 2011-04-19 00:33
Nah, the next star you'll eventually get will be the 5th star again, after you get to 50 again, what with 7 or so titles gettig stripped from you for fraud.

Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

-1 # 2011-04-19 23:23
And what was fraudlent about 7 of our title wins?
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

+3 # 2011-04-20 16:18
well technically we won the year before the war the seven years during the war and year after the war, but celtic don't like to count these league victories, just the goals they scored that year. So if we lose 7 titles we gain 9 therefore 53-7+9=55  :D

I like the collar and the bigger rangers crest. As it has been said before, the shoulders remains a template from a few seasons ago.

I would say that is ok. This season jersey is much better though.

How can that be a strip fit for champions? Its a replica of a strip they wore 2/3 years ago.
Rangers deserve a better strip than that!!!!

No they not as the league cup champions (and that is the one and only silverware they lift) is not worth a good shirt.

Suits them perfect

I think Rangers have started changing kits every year, that's why they had the rugby shirt this year rather than the one with the faded checks. Seems to be most Umbro teams doing it now.

How bored must Spurs fans get never winning or even coming second any year, celebrating 4th place like a title win.

Yeah the stars first began in Italy to represent 10 league titles won. The Celtic star was only introduced after we put 5 stars on our badge

Typical when an Old Firm kit comes out, the abuse starts.

I must say I prefer the current one. One of the best-looking Rangers kits for many many years, possibly since the adidas days, and yes I am a Celtic supporter BTW.

... And so we are "coming full circle"...
After only one and a half years from the traditional "tailored by" vintage designs the first hints of modern slashes and stripes start reappearing...
Inevitable, considering this diffused, frenetic "a new kit a year" frenzy...

Umbro, you are my heroes, be an exception as you have always been and PLEASE GET OUT OF THIS MERRYGOROUNDl!!! There are not enough ideas to follow this rhythm of production not to fall into repetition and quick denial of a philosophy!
This is getting crazy!

The shoulder braces appear to have been lifted wholesale from MUFC's old adidas blue third shirt from the 1984-86 seasons. Not a bad shirt though.

Come on Umbro at least come up with something original even if it is another boring "tailored' design

Have to say Glasgow Rangers always banging out some good kits. Though wish they and Manchester United would stop dropping their black socks for Europe games. Only so much cash they suck out of British fans. Never see European top clubs with the need to fiddle their traditional home colours for cup games in Europe.
