Santos FC 2011/12 Umbro Home and Away Shirts

These are the new Santos FC shirts for the 2011/12 Campeonato Brasileiro, the National League of Brazil manufactured by Umbro.

Santos are the currently in the final of the Copa Libertadores waiting for the first leg away to Peñarol of Uruguay. Santos already had unique strips for that tournament alone which have proven to be quite the lucky charm so far.

These new kits however are specifically for the league tournament. Apart from a new collar the kits are largely the same to the ones they played in the Copa Libertadores competition with.

They both lose the small amouts of yellow and green that adorned them since they are the national colours of Brazil.

The stipes on the away kit now feature a slight gold trim and the Umbro logo also changes colour from gold to black with a white outline.

Also, the BMG logo is too subtle.

Seriously, at least it has stripes on the back, so sick of solid backs on striped shirts.

That's the way South American jerseys should look! tons of sponsors! (and central american jerseys) since they have no restrictions on it!

it doesn't matter how much effort is made to make a nice kit, south American teams just love to ruin it with sponsors,

except for Peru, there umbro kits are pure class.

Very Mature comments from all of you, just what I expect on FSC

Anyway, the kits. Santos used to have new kits every two years, now I guess its a new one every season. last years kit was one of the best that umbro made that year, and they made a few great kits. They could have been kept for another season at least.

Both the kits here are making use of a really nice template, and both look really high quality, I love the use of the watermark around the crest, and the gold pinstripes on the shirt look really good.

As for the complaints about the kits clashing, well, they can always use the third from last season, and against the teams who play in white shirts in the Brazilian league, the black and white striped shirt won't clash with Coritiba nor Corinthians, and against Ceara and Atletico MG (who play in black and white), they can wear their home shirt.

As for the sponsors, yes its a shame, but you can buy these without them, and there are only two on the shirt. They dont look that bad.

End of the day, both of these shirts are really nice and really high quality - like many of the shirts that Brazilian clubs will be wearing.

The Santos away kit looks exactly like the home kit of Atlético Mineiro. This orange sponsor BMG is in half of the clubs in the Brazillian Firts Division. It's bizarre.

We can buy the SANTOS kit without sponsors in any SANTOS SHOP, or ONLINE. Its a shame that in europe we need to stand the sponsors in our chest while walking on the street.

wth did you just said? how could be Santos small in South America if it's the American Greatest Club of the Century , elected by FIFA and probably one of the most respected clubs in the world? This is probably rivalry. We respect 'em. And this shirt is very nice.. i'd buy it if i could find it in UK
