Adidas and the Scottish Football Association have unveiled the brand new home kit for 2012/13 matches, which is available here.
The traditional dark indigo colour with hallmark adidas white three stripes has been proudly retained, but the shirt features an array of design innovations.
The new kit crest pays homage to the round badge used on the 1974 shirt worn at the World Cup in West Germany. This new adaptation of an iconic emblem of Scottish folklore features a woven badge with the embroidery applied with satin stitching. It features the Royal Standard (aka the Lion Rampant of Scotland) and marks the founding of the Scottish FA in 1873.
Bespoke imprint on the chest
This unique Saltire embossing incorporates a range of sources from around Scotland that champion the Scottish FA’s rich footballing history – including the old and new Hampden Park, the Lion Rampant, the Thistle, the 1928 ball used in the 5-1 demolition of England at Wembley Stadium, the Fleur De Lis and the date 1873 – the year of the Scottish FA’s foundation.
The collar
The polo collar features a snap button, and a printed Saltire on the back of the collar. The Saltire is also embroidered on the front placket of the collar.
Shorts and socks
White shorts, which incorporate Climacool technology, feature a tie cord and kit crest. The traditional colour rotation for the kit is completed with Poppy coloured socks. The socks feature the word ALBA, which is the Gaelic word for Scotland, and a new construction features materials that add comfort to the foot-bed and provide Achilles support.
Goalkeeper jersey
The home goalkeeper jersey is a simple but elegant mix of silver / dark Indigo which links it to the outfield home jersey. The iconic printed Saltire is featured on the back and ClimaCool technology is incorporated for additional ventilation.
Technology
Advancements in technology have yet again allowed adidas to push the boundaries in the development of their apparel giving the Scotland players an extra edge on the pitch as well as looking the part.
TechFit™ - On the field, the players’ kits will incorporate adidas’ cutting edge TechFit™ technology, to help improve speed, increase endurance capabilities and enhance awareness. This works by stabilizing and focusing the muscles’ energy to generate explosive acceleration and deliver maximum power output.
Climacool™ - The shirts also feature adidas ClimaCool™ technology, a mixture of heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels and 3D fabrics which improve air flow to the skin in the key heat zones.

Couldn't ask for better!
Ahahaha! you suck!
Fannyboy: You clearly are a clueless mongo!
maybe scotland will win the world cup 2014
he said the exact same thing about the wales away shirt
They even put rain in the picture, very realistic
Everyone down voting this is missing the joke in the poster's name...
I seen it, and I'm sure everyone else saw it, it was just a terrible joke..
With the round badge the tartan army will hopefully be back on track and play tournaments.
Mon the Alba
Do england have a decent kit ?
Also I like the watermarking on the shirt.
I tweeted the SFA a couple of days ago and they said the new strip wouldn't be worn by the team until November. Hopefully they've changed their minds as they lads would brilliant in this on Tuesday night.
so Scotland have never played in blue? what exactally looks like the England away?
Massive fail
You support Sheffield Wednesday PLEASE DO NOT talk to US about failures when you've been one massive failure in the past 5 years...
Club football is not the issue
Surely that means england copied our away kit from 2 years ago cos that was white. Phud
Proud to say i'll pull this on whilst all my mates wear their England "T-Shirt" . . .
But you'll be sat at home watching Euro 2012, like the Scotland squad

An instant classic.
Looks almost like the 1978 World Cup one except that instead of Umbro diamond, we have adidas stripes!

Pooh Remember the ugly Diadora Kits a couple of Years ago
But this one is awesome.
I will buy it as soon as I can.
Greetings from Germany
wILL YOU LEAVE IT THERE U KNOB IT WAS FUNNY THE FIRST TIME
Great top, although not overyl keen on the watermark on front. Delighted to see traditional badge back.
Would match with the white socks and dark blue/black shorts Miller is wearing sitting on the Hampden seat.
I'm going to guess the away kit will be:
White with black/dark blue trim
Black/dark blue shorts
White socks.
Ha ha & Robert the bruce
Yes, I'm sure he would have looked great being quatered in this new kit.....
No. But he sure would have looked great quartering all you racist pigs down there when you were all expecting for us to surrender... You have no right to say that and Scotland's patriotism will never die. Scottish and proud.
Even in loosing against Germany, England looked better than Scotland, who did the Scots loose too at the 2010 World Cup.....?
Better not to qualify than to be shown for what you really are. A bunch of over hyped over paid Primadonnas. Then when you get there crash in flames 4-1, against the first decent team you come up against. Thanks Germany!
Better not to qualify? Is that the Team talk pre-game every game for Scotland, because it appears to be working a treat.
Better to be a "bunch of over hyped over paid Primadonnas" that actually reach a World Cup and actually qualify from the group, than be a bunch of football frustrated fans/Nation yet again not being able to cheer their National Team on because yet again they failed to qualify, so they are reduced to cheering on any team who plays England, because that way they have a sense of belonging and can vent some bottled up anger at the TV screen because once again England have shown that by qualifying they are superior to the Scots. Even if they crashed and burned - you at least have to be at the tournament to warrant a crash and burn....... we wont see you at Euro 2012, perhaps Brazil 2014?
It seems that you are the one with the superiority complex, am i on a website about an england teamkit spouting off about how superior my country is over another? No i am not, you are. This arrogant attitude is why your countrys national football team is disliked so much by Scottish Football fans, and the fans of many other countrys for that matter. ABE.
Can't we just tarmack the whole country and make it a carpark
for England?
Don't like the shirt, it lacks creatvity and the fit of it is nasty. King Warrior says back to the drawingboard for the designers!
The King gives it a woeful : 4 out of 10.
Show me some love now y'all.
We love you Trollboy, 1986 was a good vintage also jejejejejejejejeje!
King Warrior, who likes to talk in the third person like he's The Rock or something?
Well Gaz says you are a twat! He couldn't give a shiny monkey's poo what you think of the shirt!
For your information, Scotland was around a LOT longer than the English. The Scots are the true Britons while the English are are a cross between Norman, Saxon and French.
A Scotsman formed the Football League.
Scotland hosted the first all-ticket match
Scotland invented the passing game, as well as the two-handed throw in. So Barca's brilliant play originated in Scotland
Scotsmen were the first professionals,
Hampden Park was the biggest football stadium in the world until 1950, and the biggest in Britain until 1993.
A Scotsman invented television so you can watch your team live.
So don't even say that Scotland isn't a country. Take your trolling, moronic comments and f**k off!
You are incorrectly using modern-day terminology to (incorrectly) describe historic people.
As for saying Scotland (the nation) was around before England, well, that's plain ignorant. The notion of the area in north Britain we now know as Scotland being 'Scotland', didn't even exist until ca. 1300 AD. The Kingdom of England was founded as a state in 927 AD.
If you're going to try and be a smart-arse, at least actually be a smart-arse.
You are also forgetting Jutes and Angels. Scotland as the Country we know it was created from the ashes of the Kingdom of Alba, after the Scots of Dalriada conquered them, and the Scots if my memory serves correct were a tribe from Ireland which initially settled on the West Coast of Alba in Dalriada shortly after the time the Roman's left the province of Brittania. England as a name for a Nation was in existence long before Scotland was used as a Nations name. The word England derives from an old Anglo-Saxon word which meant People Speaking English and was the dream of Alfred the Great. The inhabitants of Scotland and England are of different blood this is true as we have different roots and ancestry. It all makes for a great Sporting rivalry.
Gazhorn - Here's another fact about Scotland : They haven't got to a major championship since 1996. That was 15 years ago!!!!!! Plus, alot of Scotland's players aren't even Scottish and just aren't good enough to get in the England team. Like - Craig Mackail Smith and Chris Iwuelumo. They're england fans really but just play for Scotland cos they haven't got a hope of playin for England!!!!!
I'll talk how i want, when i want, cos most people on Footballshirtculture.com respect me for my opinions. I'll definatly be commenting on Gazhorn in my next blog. Make sure you read it peops!
To the tune of "You'll never walk alone" :
"Gazhorn, gazhorn, you're a mug, you're a mug, and you'll always be a mug, you ugly little runt!
Gazhorn, gazhorn, you're a mug, you're a mug, and you'll always be a mug, you ugly little runt!"
Join in now guys.......
I seem to remember Scotland qualified for France 98, Chris Iwuelumo was Born in Coatbridge. And John Barnes who played for England was Jamaican. Getting your facts right, song choice, lyrical content and IQ also seem questionable. Come on old boy letting the side down.........
Ooooohhhhhh 2 years difference - big whoop! It's still 13 years and will be atleast 15 till Scotland even have a chance to get to another championship. They'll probably blow that chance aswell!!!!!!
Chris Iwuelumo is shite anyway! Let's face it - hardly any of Scotland's squad would get into the England squad. Fletcher, Adam, anyone else?????? I can't think of any!
Can't believe you're going to question the Wazmeisters IQ aswell????? That's a joke! King Warrior says : Waddles Mullet just got owned by the King!
Show me the love now guys
My Dear fellow show some class and refrain from talking in such a way to one of your countrymen. Just because i pointed out to the audience that you remain cranially challenged is no reason to talk in such an uncouth manner. It is not your fault, bad parenting is no doubt the root of your condition. Toodle pip!
Here mate you are a total censored you know that ? typical english getting a censoreding boner over qualyfying for football tournaments instea of us but scottish dont give a censored we show passion all year round win or lose unlike you censoreds who slate england everytime they lose anything and how can you english expect us to support your team when were not in a tournament ? look at all your comments ! yous are just twats !
Mac fella, I'm a scouser. Scousers don't care about England. If England where playing another country and an Everton player scored for that country, I'd cheer the goal. censored England - it's full of woolybacks anyway.
Scotlands full of neds though, and they're just as bad. I'm just greatful I'm a scouser and not some little wool from Scotland or somewhere!
Tw@t
witever mate u seem tae forget the picts kicked the arses of the romans and the were around well before any tribe from ireland!
did it ever occur to you why the romans never conquered scotland?do yir homework pal!
aye we invented the telly and the game, and aye we are the true brits, compared to england, are you forget the english were just a bunch of corrupt bandits, that why nobody likes the english, hence why the french helped the scots kick the english arses.
the english corrupted everyone, even their kings and queens were a bunch of inbreeds,s**gging each other.
Lovely kit,and proud to be a jock! better kit than that umbro pish!
Oh dear, it would appear that you can not read and do not even know the history of Scotland or pre-Scotland and yet you try and inform others. Of course the Romans never fully conquered 'Scotland' because 'Scotland' did not exist during the time of Rome!! The Picts did not 'kick roman arse' as the Picts became the predominat force in the North of modern Scotland in the 5th Century AD - this is when Rome withdrew from Central and Southern Britain. The Romans fought against the Caledonian Confederacy and actually defeated them at the battle of Mons Graupius. The Romans either abandoned their territorial gains or were slowly driven back by the Caledons and susequently built Hadrian's and Antonine's Wall's. The name Pict is derived from the Latin Pingere which means to paint, and the term Pict was used broadly to describe any peoples/tribes who painted themselves.
"hence why the french helped the scots kick the english arses."
When exactly was this? The French PAID the Scots to invade England time and time again because it was actually the English who were 'Kicking' French Arse on the Continent and the King(s) of France needed an 'Ally' to distract English attention, it was one such 'Mercenary' attack by Scotland which led to the English retaliating and invading Scotland in turn, so the Scots are certainly no angels, neither are the French nor the English and many other Nations besides.
So I think that you 'madforit73' need to learn to write, spell and of course read some history before typing comments. Do not be so amazed or offended that Irish settlers/tribes actually contributed to the birth of Scotland, after all it was
"any tribe from ireland!"
Just such a tribe the Dal Riatans arrived from Ireland in the 5th Century AD - they were also commonly known as the Scotti (Scots)...............
Who gives a bumsrush about your pathetic history lessons, nobodys listening anyway. england and umbro are pish. Nuff said.
You are obviously 'listening' because you read it and took the time to comment upon it in such a childish manner that the content must have struck a cord. So I believe that you at least give a 'bumsrush'.
Absolutley correct bummyboy, i did read your first rambling inept sentence and realised very quickly you are a worthless inept tw@t! Adios!
apart from that very nice
Would like to see Gordon Greer sporting this in WC qualifying
Hahaaaaa!! Inept eh, well you not only read everything I wrote and commented that no one reads the comments which is contradicting your own comment, you then further read my comments and reply a second time which leads to a further contradiction of yourself; inept and tw@t are polite words to desribe you and your ill conceived rants. Adios!
