Sydney FC 11/12 adidas football shirts

Sydney FC unveiled its new 2011/12 football kits made by Adidas. The two-time Hyundai A-League Champions proudly showed off the new strip, which sees the traditional home strip altered only slightly and a new predominantly Black away strip in front of 50 members of The Cove and a curious lunchtime Martin Place crowd.

Six players, including Captain Terry McFlynn and marquee midfielder Nick Carle, were on hand to model the new strips, while also asking fans to become Members for the 2011/12 season to get behind the Club.

“It’s also nice to see the new strip that we will be playing in. adidas is one of the best football brands in the world and they have put designed a strip that we will proudly wear every week.” said Captain Terry McFlynn

The home strip is the traditional Sky Blue with a Navy pin-stripe, the away strip is Black with a Sky Blue pin-stripe while the goalkeepers will take to the field in grey or fluorescent yellow or green. The home strip also has a collar – a traditional football feature.

The strips will go on sale on 1 September

Looks ok, but I'm not keen on the collar to honest. Also seems to be missing a major sponser as well?

Regardless, it's leaps and bounds ahead of the Reebok crap they've had previously!

SFC's deal with their two major sponsors wasn't renewed, as I think the new board believe they can get a better deal. Hope they sign a big NSW-based brand to boost both companies' local profiles.
re: the collar - would prefer a Sporting KC-style collar, but it's hard to say until you try it on. Same with the HAL logo, hating on it again >:(

Quoting BLCFC:
He's in Melbourne mate.

i wonder if he will flop.

anyways. i think the away jersey is much better then the home. the colar of the home makes it look cheap. but im sure with a sponsor the kit will look quite nice!

sucks to be a team in the aleague without an adidas kit hehehe

The away version's lovely--but the home shirt is pretty gash; that collar looks awful and screams "vaudeville".

Remove the collar and you've got a decent kit

Collared shirt is a nice colour but reminds me of Real Madrid's 08/09 home shirt, obviously not White though. Still some smart kits, I like the sleeve sponsor.

There's no sponsor because Sydney FC is still to announce its new sponsor by September 8 according to the official website.

I think the light blue shirt is very, very classy. Not too unique, but the pinstripes and collar make for a great design combination. The colors are great and really make the design look better. It's pretty simple but at the same time is a clean look. Very nice.

Absolutely sick kit. Bear sick. The players look like Gladiators. Ready to take on anything. All that is missing is the armoury and the lions. Wearing this kit will release this vibe. A warning to ANY opposition - You will be tamed. Any team that wins at Sudney will win the League.

Why are the A-League teams switching from Reebok to Adidas? Dear oh dear, are they acheing for some standard templates with no effort put into them whatsoever? With those retarded stripes on every single kit?!

Sigh, well, I still have my `06 Newcastle Jets and `09 Sydney FC kits. At least I know Reebok cared about its products.

@ Golem, from this season on all A-League teams are free to deal with their kit manufacturers.

great news. something about having every kit made by the same manufacturer seems odd.
