Hmmm....I would be interested in finding out what the majority of Canucks out there think of this.

Oh btw, and I

Canuck here, HATE IT SO MUCH. looks like they're graduating from university with those things on. And what the hell is up with him talking about adding black like its a good thing, black isn't in our national colour scheme. Stick with red and white and if you must add something else, make it at least gold, silver, or something like that, but not black. They had a chance here to maybe make something marketable to a country that generally give a rats ass about soccer... blew it.

You're a censoreding idiot.

Black is unofficially within the palette that has always been included in any national sport team, from the Olympics to Hockey. Just because it's not in the Flag doesn't mean shit.

I think this kit looks great, and Umbro kits are a natural step up to Adidas. Especially in terms of quality of material.

Will definitely be buying it.

Nice response.

It's not in the flag, so what. Italy uses their royal blue, and the Dutch wear orange.

If you look at what our official uniforms are for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, we should have black, yellow, and brown in there too. ;)

Yeah OK, red and white with gold and silver, that is the ticket. Maybe with a bit of teal too...

The shirts are good, pretty clean and classic-modern. The chevron should have extended to the back.

Umbro is the right sponsor, it's an American corporation (Nike bought it) that has British pretentions - perfect for Canada! -

My take is not positive. I recently purchased the retro 1977 kit which features our Coat of Arms. It's clean and simple. This kit seems like it has the right idea, but personally it doesn't jump at me. The crest on the red kit is hard to read. The read and black bleed into each other on the white. It could be better, but at least it doesn't look like a youth footy league kit that your kids would wear for their games.

First of all, this looks like a cheap immitation of the 2009-2010 Man Utd Kits. Could they not of put a design onto the shorts? Looks cheap! Secondly, only in Canada would they launch their soccer kits in a bar. lol

So the CSA finally did something for once. They got up off their backsides and ditched Adidas who were walking all over them and signed up to a good company in Umbro. About time! However, this was a golden opportunity to ditch one of the worst logos in international football and they didn't. Something like the secondary logo for the hockey team would be perfect. I am hugely disappointed by that and the kit as well to be honest. So much more could have been done. Oh and what's with the black in Canadian sports all of a sudden? Ditch the ruddy colour already! The CSA has, as usual, dropped the ball big time again! What a joke they are!

Would you rather wear American blue? I thought that was the whole reason why Hockey Canada changed from blue to black as the accent color.

Well seeing as our flag is red and white then I'm going with a red and white kit. Red shirt, shorts and socks all with white trim for the home, reversed for the away. We look like Trinidad and Tobago in that kit. Hockey Canada needs to ditch the black as well not to mention Rugby Canada which uses it the most. To be honest I don't mind a bit of black trim in a logo or cuffs on the sleeves say but big chevrons and shorts are too much whatever the sport.

Umro made a weak kit for a weak team. Very 80's look to it.

Instead of doing something classy and clean like all the other new Umbro kits out there, they supply a Star Trek uniform. Or am I thinking this is a leftover costume from Micheal Jackson EO?

Also, the Canada crest needs to be changed, what the f--k are they thinking?? It looks like lettuce coming out of a salad bowl.

As with anything born in the 80's (baring living things of course including me) that logo should have died when that horrid decade did. I think it's safe to say every Canadian football fan despises that logo. Like I said a simple maple leaf logo like the alternate Hockey Canada logo (the real looking leaf as opposed to the stylised one on the flag) would be perfect. A heraldic crest like on the coat of arms of Canada or even the badge from the 70's would be good.

The CSA needs to be eradicated and the 'Canadian Football Association' be born in it's place with all new people running it and all new ideas and mentality.

Looks like the old vancouver canucks hockey jersey from the 80's. Just change the colors around a little and lower the double "V" and you have the old vancouver canucks jersey.

With that said, what a crap jersey. On the red one you can't even see the crest. Piss poor job by Umbro

Looks like it belongs as a Blackburn 3rd kit or something. I really expected better from Umbro.

The CSA a complete overhaul. New logo, New jerseys (these look like cheap Asian imitations) and a new administration.

The last Adidas kit was much better. Feels like you could've picked this up at your local soccer shop and just screen printed
the logos on there.

I here all the points but Canadians.you need to know that Adidas walked away from the CSA. Umbro stepped up and had little time to develope the new look once adisad waved goodbye FACT !

Also look at Man United last season, Olympique Lyonnais & Blackburn Rovers this season........to mention just 3 clubs.......3 clubs with a very similar chevron shirt design.

Also team US wore two shirts at the 2010 world cup & yes you guessed it they wore chevron shirts too !!!

All these shirts sold very well..........which proves Football fans in other regions of the world liked the chevron....they should know !

If Canadian fans want t be seen.this is the shirt for it.

And finally......................... these UMBRO Nationlal shirts will sell for c.a. $60.00 per shirt not $110.00 - $130.00 like Adidas Canadian national Jerseys.

Now we may see some red shirts in the crowd on national match days. I never bought an Adidas shirt as it was way too over priced, I know when I'm being ripprd off!!!!!!

Umbro has the price, design & timing smack on the money.those who disagree need to research a little more.

Go Canada Go !.

I totally agree with you except no matter how hard Adidas made life by leaving and how little time Umbro had to design a new kit, how hard would it be to give us our traditional all red kit?

I have absolutely no problem with the chevrons, I actually think they are a nice touch and something different. What I have a problem with is black (the red looks more like England red than Canada red too but that maybe getting a bit petty. No matter how little time you have to design a kit, you can at least get the colours right.

The CSA also needs a head shake. Even the most brain dead moron can see that that logo is vile and horribly outdated. A new logo can take time to make and I understand that but surely an announcement could be made saying it would be eventually ditched. They want to re-invent themselves with their vote next month and the centenary is next year, surely a new badge would be the way forward.

On a different note, well done Umbro for brining the price down to a respectable level which is now in line with the pound sterling prices and also an apparent pledge to get it in more shops. I collect them so if I can get a hold of them over here in England or get my parents to buy it in Canada then I am there for sure.

PS. The Septics wore sashes at the World Cup not chevrons.

scroll down this blog to see the real, final version of the kit that our lads will hopefully don against greece on the 9th of february: http://www.takethepiss.com/forums/canada/16683-canada-umbro-partnership.html

Much improved, and at only 60 bucks, i'll have them both.

Keeping with the theme that Umbro brought to the table here (which isn't bad) here are kits that really took only a few minutes to come up with. Yes there is a copyrighted logo there but you get the direction I am trying to go here.

Complete with white shorts with red trim and white socks with red overturns for the first and red shorts with white trim and red socks with white overturns for the second. The interchange of the shorts on occasions wouldn't be bad either.

i've been a fan of football for about 20 years now and i have seen many different kits and there wasn't a single jersey that i detested until i saw this one just now.

there are possibilities that someone in future would come up with a kit worse than this, but i do not believe a jersey can look worse than this.

It's so depressing to be a canadian soccer fan. the csa has given umbro its lousy crest and next to no time and, sure enough, they've produced the worst umbro kit i have seen. some days i can understand why our best players suit up for other national teams.

This is like the Airdrie top worn by the 'Diamonds' in the SCOTTISH 2nd division. So not very unique afterall.
