This is the new 1. FC Union Berlin kit for the 2011/2011 2. Bundesliga season produced by Uhlsport.
The kit was launched Sunday past in a 4-2 home victory over Energie Cottbus and is the first manufactured for the club by Uhlsport who have signed a 4 year contract with the capital side.
The bear, which is a prominent symbol of the City of Berlin and is a big design feature of the shirt on the lower torso area in white upon Union's tradition red home colour. Also on the back on the collar can be found the name of the team's stadium 'Stadion An der Alten Försterei' which translates to English as 'Stadium near the old Forester's house'.

the bear had been printed as a shadow like last seasons away kit
I hope St Pauli don't do the same.
DYF went bancrupt lst season... I guess st.pauli will change their supplier too, since dyf-club kaiserslautern also wears uhlsport next season
Hummel should be very interested to supply a german team, as they want to grow on the german market. Although I think they rather want a Bundesliga team.
Nike did a Dunk shoe with St Pauli so its possible.

anyway not a bad kit
really? Whats first: chicken or egg?
Hertha copied the Design from the green Union Away last year. its the same town, could be.
Off topic : Wouldn't it be awesome if United put the devil from the logo on the shirt like this? Like Inter did with the serpent on the white away shirt.. it looked awesome.
sorry mate, but that inter shirt couldn't have looked any cheaper.
no class at all. unted deserves something better.
Union and Hertha both released the bear on their away kits for this season, although with the berlin bear logo being so prevalent and important to ALL Berlin clubs, i'm pretty sure both clubs have also donned the bear at some point previously. This year, Union's home shirt had an outline of the TV tower (fernsehturm) on the LHS of the shirt.
