West Ham United 2011/12 Macron Home and Away Kits

These are the new West Ham United home and away kits for the 2011/12 English Championship season manufactured by Macron.

The new home shirt in the is predominantly claret with light blues sleeves, the shirt also features a slight gold trim around the shoulders in the seems and on the 'Hammers' writing on the back of the collar. The collar style also changes from the previous season with a move from a fold over look to a round neck in a style similar to those worn in the 60's by the great Bobby Moore.

The away kit is all light blue for the new season with two bars of claret across the stomach of the shirt. The designs of the two shirts elsewhere is pretty much exactly the same.

The shirts will be revealed officially by the club on the 22nd of June.

First it is not the second division, that was disbanded years ago when the leagues were reformed into Championship etc.

Secondly, Macron make quality kits. I have several of their products, 3 Napoli shirts, 2 Braga and Cagliari. I have no complaints, I like their designs and they are not garish.

Just because it doesnt have umbro, 3 stripes or a swoosh doesnt make it a poor kit. These kits are very, very nice.

Absolutely agree. I just got last season's away shirt in the mail the other day, and I think it looks great. The details are incredible, I think it's actually better than most Nike / Adidas kits.

I really like these two a lot as well. I like that they moved the "Macron guy" to the shoulder, as it moved the sleeve badges up on last season's.

ok, first before you say anything about kit designs take a look at your kits. 'ive seen ryman league kits designed better. they look like someone got travel sick a vomited on them. secondly, dont get too excited bout playing us, cos we most probs wont even be allowed to attend due to the violence that occurred during your last visit to west ham. and finally dont expect to win either games against us, cos although you are now seen as a good championship team, you wont get any points against us. even thought the championship is a rather difficult league to start with lol well go get censored and hide lol

Would have liked to see claret shorts on the away kit with the blue top.

& Should have kept the collar from last years home shirt I think, but instead been replaced by the typical tee collar instead. :(

These are really nice, classic west ham. The home is an improvement on last seasons kit, and the gold stitching looks really nice. The Macron logo is still too big on the shoulder, but at least theres only one, hopefully there will be none the next time.

The Hammers writing is what I dislike most, just the irons crossed would have looked nicer, but that does not take away from a fine kit.

The away is classic. Its a shame the two bands have been moved for the SBOBET logo and (I presume) the Hoops dont extend onto the back of the shirt, but its nice anyhow.

Two really good shirts here.

Err.... theres not going to be a colour clash with Claret and royal blue or sky blue, so theres no problem with most of the teams, and against Millwall, they can always wear last seasons change kit.

on your understanding Arsenal will struggle for a kit to wear away to the likes of Chelsea, everton, mancity, wigan, blackburn and qpr, based on their new blue/sky blue away kit

Wow you have actually just gone full retard. i'll point out that out of all those teams only coventry have sky blue kits therefore they'd wear the home shirt where the overriding colour of claret would make the distinction. Burnley being the only team to wear claret (with hints of blue obv) the away kit would be worn where the distinction would still be more than easy. As for the rest all being dark blue i really dont see how anyone could construe it as a problem. It would be like me saying oh your arsenal kit is red like man U and your away kit is white like the little bit of trim on their kit, WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO?!?! really, think before making such cretinous points, and if we do come across a team that we do have a problem with clashing colours, i'm sure it would not be exactly a logistical nightmare for last seasons away shirt to be employed as a 'third Kit' just as so many other teams do....

I'm both for it and against it. The actual pattern of the shirts and the design is very tidy, well put together and follows a retro aspect from the 60's era of WHUFC (being a club that loves to claim 66) which all us fans love...however...the cut and fit of the Macron shirts lose the appeal, they hang to much and can get pretty heavy. If the shirt fitted more and were cut more modern this shirt would be really top notch. 7/10

Agreed. I bought Leeds' home shirt in "small" last season and this year I'm considering trying out a youth large first. They're massive and have no fit what so ever.
Both of these kits are nice though, so if our's are this tidy I wont hesitate to buy one.

Really decent looking kit.
Macron are always improving and in my opinion are already better than some of the lesser kit manufacturers that have been around for years (Lotto, Kappa, Errea - are they all Italian as well? CBA looking it up).
Their only downfall is the massive logo they put on the sleeves, or in this case, the shoulder, but I think their kits have a lot of individuality and they don't seem to use solely templates.
Kudos for holding their own I say.
Now I've said all that just watch our kit be this same template

Not sure why you all get 'shirty' (ha) about the suppliers logos. There is no money to be made from shirt sales any more so they just become advertising bill boards and the 'maker' ensures they get maximum exposure of their brand within the league guidelines. Not worth commenting on 'cos you can't change it, folks!

Getting fed up with that fact every time we have a new kit provider they come up with 'a traditional design that is influenced by the glory days of west ham'... And it always looks the same. The same as the Fila effort, and the Pony effort, and the Umbro effort, and the Reebok effort.

As soon as I saw the teaser on the west ham site i knew they would look like this. Not disappointed but not impressed either.

Someone give us a new kit!

Not bad at all. Taking this one as example, for me Macron just made kits that are much better than those Nike and Puma are presenting for next season. By far.
One of the best ones I've seen so far, right after the jerseys Adidas made for Chelsea and Milan (I prefer red, but the model of the jersey Adidas is giving Chelsea is really awesome).

Really nice, classic West Ham kits. Only negative point the unnecessary Macron man on the shoulder, but otherwise excellent.
