wrexham 2011 puma shirt vote

Wrexham is delighted to showcase four possible home shirt designs for the 2011/12 season and has thrown open the final choice to all Wrexham supporters.

After three years with Umbro, Wrexham will be switching to Puma for next season.

The club will collect votes over the coming week and announce the winning design at the home game against Newport County, a week on Sunday.

In addition, one supporter who choose the winning design will be drawn at random and that lucky fan (along with a friend) will be the club's guest at the Hayes & Yeading match.

Why are Welsh teams in the English league?

Come on FIFA pull your finger out

Your ignorance offends me.

Teams like Swansea, Cardiff and Wrexham depend on large crowds and financial input to survive - they are in highly populated places of Wales. Also, like all league clubs, they tend to be the heartbeat of the city/town where they are located. This is no different for these clubs. Without competitive football, these teams would stew in the Welsh league attracting 'nothing' crowds and a lot more teenagers would be on the streets on a Saturday afternoon causing trouble and upsetting residents with anti-social behaviour.

Lets not forget that Swansea and Cardiff in particular have played a big part in English league football for many years - Cardiff being the only Welsh winners of the FA Cup in 1927 and Swansea being a mid-eighties Division 1 team. Their CV's speak for themselves.

Also, on a political aspect, the country of Wales depends heavily on financial input from the British government. Unlike Scotland, it cannot successfully pass its own laws. However, a referendum has recently been passed giving Wales the power to ratify its own acts/laws before it reaches parliament. This will, however, take a long time to come in to affect in a totalitarian way.

Your response was ignorant, factless and frankly appalling.

Because they're better than your sad excuse of a club. Cardiff and Swansea are in the Championship and could well be in the Premier League next season.

Whereas your lousy team could well be playing League 2 football next season, and by cruel twist of irony, Wrexham could get promotion back to the league via the playoffs if they stay in the top 5. So there.

The reason why the shirt designs have no sponsor is because Wrexham are changing sponsors. Next season they're going to be sponsored by Tampax, because they're going through their worst period in years.

Not actually true as Wrexham are currently 4th and finished last season in the same league 11th. So it wasn't funny or factually correct.

Idiot.

A selection of clean and simple templates that are not exactly pushing the boundaries of innovative sportswear design, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Less is quite often more. The first one looks like it could be a Leyton Orient shirt, while the fourth is the same as a Turkey/Middlesbrough/Spartak Moscow Puma template.

My favourites are the second and third. Number 2 just about edges it on points, as it features green and white flashes, the colours of the Welsh flag, working brilliantly with the Wrexham crest. It would be near-perfect if it had the non-contrasting collar and cuff as evident on number 3, which reminds me of Fergie-era Aberdeen's red Adidas home shirt from the early 80's, one of my personal favourite shirts of all time for it's clean, smart simplicity. Less is most definitely more.
