You see the reason that is, is because this shirt is designed with the occasion in mind and is designed very well. Whereas the United shirt looks as if it has been thrown together at the last minute I (as I'm sure most other on this site) could think of many better designs to commemorate the "cotton trade of Manchester" in my personal opinion it would have been much better if Umbro had designed the current United shirt as at least they would have given it some thought.

Not quite sure what you mean by 'thrown together at the last minute'. Now, I'm no big fan of the United shirt, but its no better or worse than this one, and yet the United shirt was almost unanamously panned whereas this one is apparently 'cool' and 'a breath of fresh air'. I think some people's hatred/dislike of United is so ingrained that they are just incapable of liking anything to do with them. I'm sure you could write a pyschology paper on how people unconsciously dislike something if it's connected with a team they dislike.

This is exactly my point, This is a website just to look at kits and not the crest, this and the Man Utd kit are similar. So people should take into account the kit and not who wears it. I personally don't like our home kit (or this special 1860 Munich kit) but it's not as bad as some of the haters say...

The main differences between this shirt and Man Utd's shirt is that this is a special occasion shirt, and United's is their home shirt. Had Man City worn this as a home shirt it would be awful. It is like United yellow and green halves shirt a few years ago, great for United, rubbish for Norwich.

the club's colours are red and white though - the crest only contains blue as it shows the Bavarian coat of arms. blue is associated with 1860 and not FC Bayern!

As everyone can see, this shirt is much better than the United kit. The design is slightly different and that makes all the... difference. It has a very old-school vibe to it, whereas the United one is just stupid.

The hypocrisy on here. If anything this is more garrish than the Man U jersey, yet people are seem to like this one a lot more This is literally designed after a tablecloth! For the record I really like this shirt, and the Man U home as well.
