This is the new Arsenal 12/13 Nike Away football shirt, which is available here
Arsenal will wear an adventurous new away kit this season and its eye-catching design marks a new direction for Arsenal – it combines a rich purple base with black hoops.
Taking visual inspiration from high street fashion, the kit is on-trend and by using such a regal colour in the year of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, it also honours the Club’s historical royal links.
The Gunners were known as “Royal Arsenal” in the 1890s having been formed at the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, South London. Originally bearing the name “Dial Square” after one of the factory's workshops, the founding fathers decided to merge the name of a pub they met in - Royal Oak - with their place of work.
The red trim on the shirt cuffs compliment the purple body and pay homage to the home kits that are so identifiable with the Club, whilst the differing hoop patterns on the body and the sleeves of the shirt give it a modern twist.

The inner back neck graphic takes the form of the club’s motto, ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit’, the Latin for ‘Victory Through Harmony’. Meanwhile, the outer back neck graphic pays tribute to legendry manager Herbert Chapman’s innovative WM formation.
The purple and black hooped socks, bearing one red hoop each, again pay tribute to Chapman’s legacy, as it was he who introduced hooped socks – he reasoned that they would make it easier for his players to pick one another out on the pitch.
Whilst the kit combines modern sport and youth style to give the club a striking new look, Nike’s innovations give the team the most technologically advanced kit to aid athlete comfort and performance.
The new home kit is made from Nike’s ground-breaking recycled polyester, making it Nike’s most environmentally friendly kit ever produced. Each kit (shirt and shorts) is made using up to thirteen recycled plastic water bottles and this innovative manufacturing process reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to manufacturing traditional polyester. Since 2010 Nike has used an estimated 1115 million recycled plastic bottles to create its high performance kits.
The kit and extended line is available for pre-order here and will be available in stores on 9th August 2012.
Thanks to Paul

They hadn't and they did not.
Quoting Maarten:
But I like this a lot... and as a keeper, i LOVE the goalie strip!
Nike's focus groups identified that Manchester United were all about "tradition." Arsenal were identified with "modern, fashionable." Barcelona were identified with "effervescent, joyful."
So Man U got "tradition" (Nike fücked it up, but that's what the gingham is supposed to be.)
Arsenal got "modern and fashionable" with the ugly sleeves on the home kit and this ice cream seller's outfit. This clown suit.
Barcelona got "effervescent and joyful" (Nike censoreded it up, but that's what that weird away kit is supposed to be.)
Nike did their research. They just... don't really care anymore, and these kits aren't for us anyway.
As a censored, i fully incline toward this somewhat sensational goalie kit
Fail
Arsenal ended up with a pretty bad away kit last season, and ended up 3rd in the league. Who knows, by wearing an even horrible away kit this year, they could improve to 2nd.
Can't tell if trolling or mentally ill.
you're a disgrace to the club. Our new kits are much better than Arsenal's this year. Why do you want to be just like everyone else? We stand out.
"Inspired by high street fashion".
As if anyone wants a kit "inspired" by a sport's designer's idea of "high street fashion."
This is awful. Anyone who denies this works for Nike. Awful.
R U censored?
censored no
I think the lady doth protest too much
You're right. I can't deny it any more. I am censored and proud!
You finally admit it, i am censored and proud too!
Will u go out with me?
(remember never deny, if you are censored and proud then be open!)
The obvious question is why?
Just copyin celtic init.

Adidas, while they have admittedly picked up over the past couple years for their big clubs, are still crap. Virtually everything is a template, everyone's wearing the same three or four kits, just in different colours. And every kit has to have three stripes censoreding everywhere. Sorry manufacturers, you get one logo on the chest, one on the short, and one on each sock, that's it. You don't get three massive stripes down each arm, down each leg, and across each sock in ADDITION to a logo on the chest, short, and socks.
This might be terrible, it might grow on you. But in any case, I'd rather have a decade of kits like this than switch over to Adidas (unless they were to get rid of the three stripes everywhere, then I might actually be willing to consider it).
dont forget the black!!! hehe
You called
Next year is 13' and Arsenal will be CHAMPIONS OF WALES
Fag.
censored off ur a fag that surports a long ball team that not creative at all so go and poke ur balls
even though i'm not yid but i agree with you man!
but it's not very arsenal-like, is it? i always have that yellow-blue combination in my mind, back from the years with JVC as a sponsor. maybe i'm wrong, but that doesn't seem to fit the club.
It's cool and contemporary.
I would much rather have this than some of the templates of other clubs and brands.
The home's really wearable so there's a good choice for the fans.
Matches our young and exciting team.
As for the RVP comments - let him go.
Nobody's bigger than our club.
Also gives Walcott, Chamberlain, Ramsey and Wilshere chance to step up to the plate.
Gives Ramsay the chance to wear his favourite colours
photoshop is a f u c k i n g disease !!
What in the name of God Almighty and the Baby Jesus are Nike DOING this season?
I want an answer. What are they thinking? What is the method? What is the strategy?
Because what they've done this season is bad enough to genuinely damage their reputation.
Take a large steaming dump on 'tradition' if you must. OK. Annoying people can even be a positive thing. I know this.
But for the love of everything holy, make it at least GOOD. Make it 'cool'. Make 'knowing'.
This, and the Man U home kit, and both of the Barca kits, are totally frigging embarrassingly lame.
Does anyone here know anyone at Nike? What are they doing? What are they THINKING?
Nike are a vast multinational corporation.
They don't give a flying fück about us. There isn't an answer, is there?
As you were.
This kit is shiße, by the way.
Now seeing it on players it's not bad.
I always complain that I find Arsenal away kits to be boring, I think this is a step away from that.
It nice to have a break from "tradition".
I can do without the Nike copywriter saying "The red trim on the shirt cuffs compliment the purple body and pay homage to the home kits that are so identifiable with the Club,"
Please, the designer just put a red stripe on it just because. it's no nod to the home kit.
I like this better than the home strip.
Nevertheless, superb kit and - even though a completely new design for Arsenal - very classy as well. Big thumbs up for these!

Gyda llaw, os ydych mor falch o fod yn Gymraeg pam nad ydych yn postio yn y Gymraeg?
quite happy to use the Queen's English though aren't you?
ifyou're so proud post in Welsh or you could go watch S4C.
I think Arsene Wenger has been cut from the bottom half of the pic
Arsenal will be wearing this purple and black monstrosity because their home kit, which is red, will clash with the home team's shirt, most likely another side in red. So why is there a pink goalkeeper's shirt?
Just another clever attempt at Arsenal (and plenty of other clubs) exploiting their fans by producing numerous new kits a year.
The line 'the red trim pays homage to the home kit' - really? I hadn't figured out the bit of red is due to the main club's colour.
When they play away to Sunderland be interesting to see what colour shorts they use - may stick with the white (home) shorts that day with this monstrosity of a shirt.
No wonder they want shot of Nike.
IMHO Umbro and Puma make the best kits at the moment.
Liverpool's new home kit is pretty smart, too.
id like to deposit my man vomit in your mouth sweety
But that purple just doesn't look good.
And that goalkeeper kit ... Well ...........
Seems like Nike doesn't want a contract extend.
With Arsenal and lots and lots of other teams.

i'M sorry but that is the most camp and ridiculous strip

And as fot the keeper kit...Crikey.
