Picture the scene at Umbro HQ:

Big boss: You mean to tell me you haven't designed an away shirt for Blackburn Rovers?

Work experience kid: I'm so sorry. What can we do?

Big boss: Do we have any of those plain navy blue t-shirts knocking about?

Work experience kid: You mean those ones that Sports Direct sell for about £3 each?

Big boss: That's right. Get a few badges sewn on to them. Nobody will notice.

Things wrong with this:

1. Kind of "anti-design", it can't have possibly taken longer than 30 seconds to come up with what is just a navy blue t-shirt with the tiniest hint of red on the cuff. Just Poor.

2. IT'S BLUE! Blackburn already play in Blue & White for heaven's sake, unless you are playing a team in white (Hello Leeds & Bolton!) this is useless. Blackburn will have to have yet another shirt to play Ipswich, Peterborough, Birmingham, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield, Brighton and Leicester away.

Is exactly what I was going to say. As for the shirt if I was a Balackburn fan the short sleeve one would make a great t.shirt especially without any sponsor's name, but not at the no doubt £35/40 plus it will be on sale for.

Are Umbro seeing if they can make the cheapest looking , dullest kits for next season? They're doing a good job with the majority of next season's offerings so far. Blackburn have never been blessed with great away kits but this is just so plain and boring.
