Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce the unveiling for the first time of its new home kit, marking and celebrating the Club’s 125th anniversary.
The 2012/13 season is set to be a special one, as the Club will be celebrating 125 years of proud history. Nike has created special kits for this landmark anniversary, starting with a new home kit, which will be available here.
The hoop represents the history of Celtic, it represents the family, it is inclusive and should never be broken. With this kit, Nike has looked at ways to contemporise the Hoops in a clean and classic way.

A Celtic home jersey traditionally has seven unbroken Hoops. This season, there are nine thinner hoops, linking back to the nine consecutive Scottish league titles Celtic won between 1965 and 1974. It is a record that has never been broken.
The jerseys have an anniversary crest, celebrating the Club’s 125th anniversary. The pattern around the crest is Celtic knot-work. This kind of design again ties back to the Celtic origins of the Club.

The jersey has a small Celtic mark at the outer back neck and marks the foundation year and the year of the anniversary at the inner back neck.
The new jersey is worn with white shorts with the Celtic knot-work detail printed on the side panels and with black socks with a green and white hoop, again to underline the Club’s heritage.
Main club sponsor Tennent’s Lager, a supporter of Scottish football for almost 40 years, has changed its branding on the Club’s home shirts to mark the club’s 125th Anniversary.
The logo will now appear below the club crest on the left breast of the shirt rather than across the chest as in previous seasons.
Tennent’s believe that the way in which the brand has been incorporated into the new strip is a fitting way to celebrate the Club’s 125th anniversary.
This move has been welcomed by the Club, and will be appreciated by the supporters who will wear this classic kit.
Steve Annand, Commercial Managing Director for Tennent Caledonian Breweries, said: “When we were approached about the new kit designs and talked through the sentiments behind this special anniversary for the club we wanted to play our part to help create what will become a truly classic Celtic shirt, we have achieved this in a positive way.
“The kit design is based on the original world-famous Hoops first worn in 1903 and we feel our branding fits this perfectly.”
Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: "We´re very grateful to Tennent´s for the way in which they have recognised and shown such commitment to the Club´s 125th Anniversary season.
"It is magnificent that we will enter our 125th season as Champions of Scotland and we are sure that our supporters will enjoy celebrating this very important milestone.
“We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with Tennent’s during our very successful partnership and they are without doubt one of the finest brands with which we have had the privilege to work.
“Tennent´s have been one of the most important brands in Scottish football over a number of decades, we thank all those at Tennent´s for their support and we look forward to continuing this great relationship."
And the Chief Executive added: "Once again we are delighted with the fantastic design which our kit supplier Nike has developed.
“We have been grateful to enjoy a strong relationship with Nike, such a successful global sports brand. This has been a hugely beneficial partnership for the Club and our supporters and it is one we hope to continue for some time.”
The new Celtic home kit will be available here in July 2012.

not sure about sponsor size and location though
the sponsor size and location is the same on rangers. its to make the old firm look more classy. that is assuming rangers will be around next year.
Old Firm - classy? Really? The most bigoted fans I have ever seen...I think the classy ship may have sailed.
kinda ironic that they aim for classy when Tennants are their sponsors!
Samaras is useless most of the time anyway.. and why the hell would we care enough about Greece to ''Forget'' about it???
we are green and white hoops they r blue???? simirlarities really?
It's a nice kit mind!
No it's not just you other think the same, not me though. The best thing about this kit is the smaller sponsor being put to one side.
and while we're on the oh so critical topic of sock design, the only other socks I liked better in a celtic kit were the hooped socks from 2001, the ones worn with the "controversial" broken hoops shirt.
But will both Glasgow teams now be sporting black socks?
Rangers are wearing red and white socks
I think the sort of 67 style celtic kit is one of the nicest in football. Why don't they stick to 7 stripes, but have them as the actual correct, block colours, without any chavvy shit printed into the stripes. haven't done that in a while. I like the round collar though and the smaller sponsor.
Also thinks their kit looks better with white socks.
i support the accies and i agree with you to the extent that there are more old firm fans of both teams in each city of Scotland than there are of the people supporting their local towns, then again that's bound to happen when most of those folk are glory hunters saying they ''support'' either of the old firm without ever going to a game......
It's not based on the 1888 kit, it's the early 1900s kit.
Hopefully the away kit is the white 1888 kit, preferably with the celtic cross badge, but I'm liking the new kit anyway.
Roumer has it that the away kit is going to be orange top half and green bottom half seperated by a white hoop around the shirt (ie tri colour) with a black and grey hooped third kit.
I seem to like the word 'kit' as well.
I hope this isn't relegated to the teamwear range though, I hope the version he's wearing is the replica and not the laser-cut authentic version.

just like old time

Your about 58 years too late im afraid.
this celtic badge says 1988
man you europeans are so stupid. i can't even talk to you
meanwhile you americans were still trying to come up with sports that you and only you alone would really master and which no one else (on an international level) would care about.......
Anyway hope this makes sense Terry, private message me if you want to discuss further.

Crap team
Surely a Rangers fan taking the piss?
Well 'we' stupid europeans, were formed in 1888, or to be more precise the the 6th of November 1887, but, didn't play our first game until 1888. The Boston Celtics, were named after a failed New York team of the 1920s.
Are you certain about this? As I was saying to Terry earlier, Boston/Glasgow Celtic are a franchise. Yes you are correct about the dates, but that was because the first one took off quicker. I believe the plans are to open a new one in Toronto which is Ice Hockey based, within the next year, and then expand into other sports in the longer term future.
Again, hope this clarifies your query.
Many thanks and regards,

Don't be stupid!
I have inside knowledge that Celtic FC and the Boston Celtics are going to merge, move to London, and become "The London Glasgow Boston Celtic 96ers with Black Sox Not White".
Hi Small P,
Your wrong regarding Toronto and Ice Hockey. It's actually Quebec, but you're 100% correct with expanding the Celtic franchise beyond football (That's soccer...Roy) and Basketball. I believe the next year will see us cheering on the Celtics Baseball Team, The Celtics F1 team and the Celtics Tiddly Winks Team. In addition, Big Paddy from the Gorbals will be entering both Sumo and WWF under the Celtic franchise and they will also be entering a rowing team, gymnastic team etc. in this years Olympic games under the Celtic Nation, vying against the likes of the American and British nations. Goooooo...Celtics!!!!!
...TM
Also, the collar should have been different. Sure they wanna make something that looks retro but, for me at least, the kit looks damn boring.

Black socks for the funeral of our blue friends.
I really like this top, aswell as Rangers new ones. It's great how both sides of the Old Firm are using retro-styled kits to celebrate 125 years for Celtic and 140 years for Rangers!
Great work Nike/Umbro!
ALSO- I want to see an end to all the crazy fighting between the 2 clubs. I love football, and my team are Rangers. It's a great game, and there's no place for all the hatred and sectarian rubbish that goes on!
plain and crap
