Coventry City 12/13 Puma Home and Away Shirts

coventry city 12/13 puma home away football shirt

Coventry City have launched two brand new Puma kits for the 2012/13 season.

The home strip sees a continuation of last season's all sky blue kit but this time on a modern shirt profile and includes sky blue shorts and socks.

The club's official crest has also been restored to the kit after a season using retro badge from the early days of the Sky Blue revolution.

For the first time in two seasons, the away kit has been redesigned and features a striking yellow and green jersey, blue shorts and white socks with a green trim.

Justin Tose, commercial director at Coventry City, said: "Once again, we believe we have produced two great kits that our supporters will love.

"The home kit continues the theme from last season with an all sky blue strip based on the Jimmy Hill era that proved so popular. It's a more modern take on that theme but we think it works really well.

"The away kit is really different to anything we've done for some time. The colours in the shirt reflect those of our main sponsor City Link and that is partly as a thank you to them for all their support going into the final year of their current sponsorship deal.

"They have been extremely helpful in terms of the home kit in agreeing to have their logo in white to fit in better with the design and this is our way of saying thank you for that.

"We've already had good feedback from the players who have seen the kit and we believe it will be very popular with our fans."

The kits will be available to buy from 9am on Thursday, June 7. Prices have been frozen at £34.99 for an adult (male and female versions) short sleeved shirt, £19.99 for adult shorts and £9.99 for adult socks. Long sleeved adult shirts are £39.99.

For kids, shirts are priced at £24.99, shorts are £16.99 and socks are £7.99. Long sleeved kids shirts are priced at £29.99. Infant kits are priced at £32.99.

Nice to see a DIFFERENT template going to another Lower League club sponsored by Puma!

Only seen like 3 or 4 teams with this template and it's already getting boring, how unadventurous are Puma? At least Adidas and Nike have a few different styles and patterns, Puma literally draw up one pattern each season and throw it at a majority of the teams they sponsor!

If I were the sponsor, would not be happy with the visibility of their logo, but actually quite nice kits. Interesting though that some teams seem to think by having a Brazil-like kit will make their team play like brazil. Ask Crystal Palace, it doesn't.

I remember the first season that Nottingham Forest had in League 1 after relegation from the Championship they turned out in Brazil's colours away...They can try and say it's to fit in with the sponsor's colour scheme all they like, it's just to try and inspire them! Bad news for CCFC fans though: Didn't bloody work for Forest - was three years before they got promoted! Seriously though, Coventry shouldn't be down there with their stadium and support - back in the 90's they were a good, solid, mid table Prem side. Wonder if that bloke at the World Snooker will turn up in this next season (CCFC fan - always sits behind the player's seat, usually in retro shirts)?

Just another lacklustre teamwear template from Puma, very dissapointing. I do wonder why clubs keep putting up with them, Nike/Umbro, and Adidas, supplying uninspired kits. Sure, they prolly pay 5 cents more per BOX of kits, but the kit you play in is holy, and deserves effort.

Just look at what happened with Cardiff.

If I were City Link I would be absolutely irate about the white on pale blue for the home sponsor. It's like Coventry are saying "we know you'll give us money for putting your name on, but we'd prefer the shirts to be without sponsors so we're going to try our best to make it look like that."

Awful, awful kits. Just off-the-shelf-same-as-everybody-else rubbish. Same as the Cardiff kits in just a different colour. That is the problem with these bigger companies, they just dish out the same kit to everyone.

And why, every so often, do teams just ape the Brazil kit for an away kit. Its nonsense. Coventry should have had a brown version if they wanted any credibility.

The home kit is decent enough but why have they made the sponsor indecipherable by making it white??!!! Is that deliberate??

"The away kit is really different to anything we've done for some time. The colours in the shirt reflect those of our main sponsor City Link and that is partly as a thank you to them for all their support going into the final year of their current sponsorship deal."

That's carp - everyone knows that a struggling team adopts a Brazilian-inspired away kit. Palarse did it, Pompey did it, Nottingham Forest did it.

The white sponsor may be explained away in the article but it just looks poor. If it makes people think "why can I barely make it out?" then they've made a mistake. It would have been so easy to do in navy as well. Without knowing the explanation fans will believe a mistake was made.

Which it was.

Puma have loads of kit deals - maybe 25-30 in the UK....is it a coincidence that the kits already launched are the same template because Puma made all them ones first???

Introducing the new 2012/13 Puma template.

This is the new Puma template for the 2012/13 season, to be worn by every single team that has their kit manufactured by Puma this season.

It incorporates a boring design that looks cheap and nasty and is easy to just slap different teams badges onto and change the colours for laziness.

It's also made out of old plastic bags to be ecological or something.
