D.C. United unveiled its new uniforms for the 2012 Major League Soccer season. With MLS clubs implementing new adidas kits in two-year cycles, the Black-and-Red will begin using their new strips beginning FirstKick weekend in March. Additionally, United’s 2011 third jersey will continue to be used in non-League encounters, including Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fixtures and international friendlies.
United maintains its iconic all-black home uniforms moving into 2012, with the club’s new white away jerseys featuring a red collar. Both jerseys feature an embossed District of Columbia flag, paying homage to United’s 16-year history in the Metropolitan Area. Four stars, representing United’s four MLS Cups, remain fixed above the team crest.
