This is the new England 2012 home shirt, which will be available here and worn by the senior squad for the first time next week as they take on Holland at Wembley, and the U21s as they face Belgium.
So what’s so special about it? Here’s some insight into the new England home shirt, Tailored by Umbro. First of all, this is the first time ever that the England shirt has been purely red and white. That’s tied into the main inspiration behind the new England shirt – that most symbolic notion of Englishness, the St. George’s flag. The red and white of the English flag are the key components of the new home shirt, with the red England crest proudly embroidered on the chest, alongside the iconic Umbro double diamond.
Probably the most eye-catching part of the new England home shirt is the collar. Featuring a smart, one button fastener, the collar is inspired by the look of a traditional shirt. With the collar down, players and fans will have a subtle dash of red along the top, recalling the flag of England’s patron saint. Under the collar, a more detailed stripe is revealed, which has been inspired by Sir Alf Ramsey’s iconic 1966 jacket and the St George’s flag, developed by Umbro into this tonal red design.
Technically, the new shirt is crafted from a cotton/polyester blended material, which offers terrific comfort, movement and fit. The shirt also features front body darting and a lowered back hem, giving fans and players a better fit and a smarter look, whether you’re playing or watching the game.
It’s a smart new look for England as they look forward to this summer’s big tournament, inspired by the most iconic symbol of Englishness there is – the St. George’s flag. The new shirt will on sale from February 29th.

Because you love handing money to Umbro, yet again.
Hope the shorts stay navy or blue...
England always had White shirt, navy shorts and white socks. Not censoreding white shorts!! It looks really girly with pink and red trim. censoreding censoredest kit ever!!
The away kit is a diifferent story....blue!...Blue is not an England colour!
st george pure for england red and white
Too darn right
Without the blue lions, this looks like one of those "special edition" tonal ones that Umbro makes. Needs more than red. It just doesn't look right. Could've been a great kit too
you thickhead, we always have alternate shorts and yes they'll be red NOW STOP censoredING ABOUT THIS KIT
England have traditionally been white & blue, just because the fag is white & red doesn't mean the shirt does. This shirt is awful, Umbro are mugging us off, the Holland & Belgium games should have supporters turn up in old shirts, not this new sh!t. Bring back Admiral.
Only about 9 months until we find out for sure...
there's always next year
Id just love that old inter milan at st Georges cross away kit from a couple of years ago!!
Id just love that old inter milan at st Georges cross away kit from a couple of years ago!!
Think the only way people would get excited about a new England kit is if we changed to a decent manufacturer. Got to be Adidas or Nike.
This tat is very dull. Have a look at the new Holland kit. Quality.
anything.
hope that they will play a good tournament but the cup will go to spain or germany
UMBRO NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!! FED UP OF SAME TEMPLATES!!
it will be red

I would loved something like the 1982 kit.
Yet again another big disappointment Umbro!

But the Goalkeppers shirt looks class, exact reverse of the home kit, all red with white badge.
I like it, no blue, red and white, England.
This shirt is going to flop, not many of your average England fans are going to rush out and buy it.
I paid £45 for the last one haven't really hade a proper game to where it for and now they want £60 for this one.
You could buy the old one for £3 now.
I feel mugged, but I yet still feel the need to buy this one.
God dame you FA sort it out
BUT - and this is the worst bit - WE DONT NEED IT! You just released an awesome kit when people are sick to the back teeth of you ripping everyone off. The FA are making mugs of you - though you reap the benefits of course. Shame.
My Wallet 3 - 0 Umbro
ugly one!
love the mexico 86 kits, but this is nothing...
i don't know why umbro didn't use the white with the navy and red chevron from there teamware for the england kit that would have been great.
BRING BACK NAVY SHORTS. people at work think it's a welsh away kit.
least the away kit is nice
would someone tell me what this censoreded shit means.
Agred,really irritating.
But I think it'll look nice and fresh... at least until the team actually start playing in it.
Then it'll look as lumbering and laboured as every kit these losers put on.
Save your energy. If England can't beat USA, Algeria and Slovenia, they're hardly going to trouble France, Sweden and the hosts.
We'll then hear that these shirts were just for the tournament and England will probably revert to a traditional white and navy get up in September.
They'll call it a new start.
Hahahahaha Joey Barton - what an absolute muppet! He's not even fit to be in the same room as an england shirt! This is the closest to an England shirt he'll ever get (apart from those 15 minutes he played in a friendly 5 years ago!)
Joey Barton's honours list : 0 leagues, 0 f.a cups, 0 league cups. 1 Coca cola championship winners medal, 1 england cap.
In a nutshell : sweet naff all!
As for the kit, nice and clean cut. The waz man loves it!!!
And what's with the red star? Are the FA communist sympathisers now??
dont like the collar but otherwise a clean, stylish, smart kit. Its nice to see a kit that actually represents the colours of our flag for once
What, if Euro 2012?
We're shit, but you're shitter, despite what happened in the World Cup.
oh yeah. U probably will own us in "EURO 12" Incase u haven't noticed you're in North America.
Stop making shit kits for us, it's not the 1950's.
Ta,
People of England
