France EURO 2012 Nike Away Football Kit

france euro 2012 nike away football kit

We showed you some leaked pictures before, but now Nike officially launched the new France EURO 2012 away kit. France's new Away National Team Kit represents natural style and elegance with iconic details and designs from French fashion, and is available here.

The new away shirt has a classic white body with seven thin, obsidian blue stripes on the cuff of each sleeve to represent the iconic French design of the Marinière. The shirt’s constructed collar also echoes French style with a long placket and a bonded tape around the edge of the collars.

In line with Nike’s commitment to superior athletic performance and lower environmental impact, the fabric of the new kit’s shorts is made with 100% recycled polyester, while the fabric of the shirts is made with at least 96% recycled polyester.  Each kit is made using an average of 13 recycled plastic bottles.

The fabric is also up to 23% lighter than the version four years ago. Embedded with Nike Dri-FIT technology, the kits help to regulate players temperatures on the pitch by removing sweat from the body to keep them dry and cool faster than ever before.

Laser-cut ventilation on the shirt promotes localised cooling where athletes need it most to remain focused on the game.

A new double knit structure and yarns also makes this kit 20% stronger, with no compromise to fit and feel with natural cotton added for comfort.

Inside the back of the neck, a thin red tape represents the red ribbons worn by the French after the revolution of 1789 celebrating their freedom and their solidarity with the victims of the guillotine.

Below the tape is the message "Nos differences nous unissent" ("Our differences unite us"), which celebrates France's diverse population.

The away shorts are white with a tonal print of the Marinière in a panel on each side. The away socks, now with improved cushioning for greater comfort, movement and protection, are also white.

I never understood why to use "duck tape" on the seams of the arms... That is usless, but the kit is good!

cuz those seams meeting look trashy, so they put that...Adidas never worries though since they don't design their jerseys from polo shirts and t shirts

It's a heat sealed seam that they have on the players' kits.

Can Greece even afford to cobble a kit or team together or did you give it all to the EU as part of your bail out package?

One of the nicest French kits for years, but still can't get used to the French football team wearing Nike, just the rugby.

I feel the same, even if Nike kits are pretty decent, I can't stop associating our national team with adidas. It's just like thinking of Germany with Nike kit...

I always think back to the 80s kits they had and the 1998 World Cup one with the red stripe across the front. Those were stunning kits.

Their Euro 96 one was amazing as well, just a shame that Rangers decided to blatantly copy it, lol

Kit is very elegant. Too bad there won't be playing elegant players in it, only those French players straight from the ghettos.

That's not even casual racism...and I'd quit while you're ahead kid, some Dutch players were even from Suriname and other places outside their adopted country if you are going to bring that into it.

I'm not a racist. The French players do come mostly out of the ghettos. They're just punks who earn too much money. If they were white I would say the same.

So you ARE singling "people of colour" or whatever the politically correct term is this week.

Honestly mate, have a word, you tool.

Someone at Nike must have been looking at the Umbro portfolio and thought that the '09 England shirt was a good design. Add a few stripes for the cuffs and the trademark elastoplasts to the shoulder and hey presto a new shirt.
Apart from the Korea away shirt and the two Dutch efforts Nike have been truly shocking for the last 2 or 3 years.
