We showed you some leaked pictures back in June 2011, but earlier today (9 February 2012), the German Football Association, together with long-time partners and outfitters adidas, proudly presented the new away kit to be worn by the German senior national team players at the forthcoming EURO 2012 tournament in Poland and Ukraine, which will be available here.
The guiding design themes are Passion, Tradition, and the colour Green, a historical reference to a glorious (and victorious) past that includes the 1972 European Championship title. Accordingly, the outside neck of the new shirt features a tagline that reads "1972 – the beginning of a success story, 2012 – a new chapter waiting to be written". Stylish green stripes on the front of the shirt and white shorts complement the picture.
Germany's upcoming friendly against France in Bremen on 29 February 2012 (kick-off 20:45, broadcast live on free-TV channel ZDF) will be the first occasion for head coach Joachim Löw's players to sport their new outfit. From 24 February, it will be available from the adidas Performance Store, at sports apparel retailers, and Here.

5 out of 5. Absolutely brilliant.
Would be a class design for Northern Ireland! If it made us play like Germany, even better!
Are you Milli Vanilli?
Still nice though!
Looking forward to seeing what Adidas do fo NI!
Just pure classic !
I am Dutch but I must say that Adidas did a great job on this one!!
Hope Nike learns something of this style and makes a classic kit for the Netherlands. (I still hope the leaked pics of the Dutch kit are fake, they probably aren't because Nike haven't launced one descent kit for The Netherlands since the beginning of the sponsorship)
Great jersey, one of the better Germany away jersey the past few years
love the kit!
Its on Wikipedia.. it must be true!
why, for stating points that are true? dont be a troll kid
Same as Italy, Holland, Venezuela, Spain (blue shorts) and England. The flag means nothing.
England's flag is white and red, and their home jersey is white...the blue comes from the crest of three lions.
The national team's home kit has always been a white shirt and black shorts. The colours are derived from the 19th century flag of the north German State of Prussia.
1) Germany wore white before they adopted the current flag. Their old flag was black/white/red tricolour.
2) Green has been used as a change strip because they are the "corporate" colours of the Deutscher Fußball-Bund.
Many countries wear colours that aren't in their flag - Italy, Australia, Northern Ireland, Netherlands, Japan.
Black, white and red was NOT the nazi flag, but the flag of the German Empire (1871-1918).
The shirt colours black and white derive from the Prussian flag, that was black and white.
Inform yourselves before posting false informations for god's sake...
It's very simple: Green is the color of the German footbal federation DFB and white was already the jersey color back in the Prussia days(white and black were the colors of the Prussian flag).
Orange top fading down to yellow. Unique.
It fake, Too early for next years shirt.
Shirts get designed WAAAAY in advanced so they can mass produce them, numb nuts.
The Internet - a vaccuum for common sense...
Why have they started putting the adidas logo on the back of the shorts?
In the good old days the badge was on the RHS and the kit manufacturer on the LHS.
Doesn't look so bad when the shorts have a number but looks odd on Replica Shorts and your heart skips a beat when u think you've turned up at 5-a-sides with your shorts on back to front!!
U go by the name DJ.. u've got to be a c0ck!

SAUERKRAUT
if 100 people say it looks good and one guy says it´s not the one guy should reconsider his personal taste and understanding of fashion
So you're advocating Fascism in THIS thread?
Irony...
They wore green because the colors of the Federation are green. And why are the colors of the federation green(although green was not a part of the Kaiserreich/Empire then-nor the Republics flag now?)
DFB German federation was born in Leipzig at a time when a local based clubs was pretty sucessfull and well known. So for no other reason that that they chose green. Hence they chose green as away shirt which was not changed till 2002 when black/grey and later on RED, BLACK followed.
Thanks for allowing me to be a typical german smarta.s.s
The white and black jersey results from the Prussian flag
http://images.wikia.com/althistory/image/f/f5/Prussian_flag.png
and green is the color of the DFB

ABSOLUTE!
But Adidas distinguish absolutely between current range and retro range. Hardly possible to have the trefoil on current new shirts....it´s about branding
But that would be a BELTER
The German Flag is not black yellow and red, it's
BLACK RED GOLD Quoting demba1demba2:

spielführer is the german word for captain. nothing more, nothing less.
The wazman loves this shirt!
but, I have German friends who are big footy fans, that all say this is a bad kit and the Green Kit is ther unlucky colour for then, especially after 1-5 beating 2001 in Munich
Germany won three world cup championships, and three european championships in green. None in red. I think red is more of an unlucky colour.
WHY WONT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND
better than the nike euro 2012 kits from this showing
HEIL MERKEL
n also nice jersey!
