Glentoran 130th anniversary Kukri Kit Vote

Glentoran Football Club in association with Kukri bring you the Glentoran "130" shirt - Designed, selected and made by Glentoran supporters.

On the 7th October 2012 Glentoran FC celebrate the 130th anniversary of the club’s first ever game played in Ormeau Park, Belfast in our famous red, green and black colours.

To commemorate this historic milestone they have come up with a unique concept which they hope will involve Glentoran supporters and players alike.

Thanks to Kukri, Glentoran will take to the field for the Danske Bank Premiership clash against Portadown on October 13 2012 in a bespoke 130th anniversary shirt which will be worn once and only once by the team.

But here’s the twist. The Glentoran Gazette’s own Clifford Logan has produced six shirt designs acknowledging iconic kit styles from down through the decades.

The club want supporters to vote on their favourite shirt for the team to wear on October 13th.

The winning design will go into production at Kukri’s headquarters in Northern Ireland and will be manufactured by Glentoran supporters in yet another first.

Only 130 of these shirts will ever be made. Aside from 16 manufactured for the first team, 114 shirts will be available for purchase by Glentoran fans as a highly sought after piece of memorabilia. The shirts created through the process of sublimation which incorporate the badging, event details and squad numbers ( where applicable) allow them to create limited edition branding i.e. each shirt will be numbered 1/130, 2/130 etc. on the sleeve panel.

Very NEC Nijmegen, this. Not only because of the colours, but the use of the city skyline at the bottom, as in this year's NEC kit.

Personally like the 51-53 kit, but why not have a white collar like in the original? 69-73 is a nice one, too.

celtic fan from belfast in peace, must say honestly the background image of the h & w cranes on all the kits look awesome. whatever one they choose will give all the 'big' kit manufacturers a run for their money very impressed with all designs alot better than some of the crap of europes elite and the samey samey templates of nike adidas et al which on the most part are beyond boring

great work

exactly, the city skyline watermark on these commemorative shirts is a nice touch but unfortunately being at the bottom of the shirt might make it not so visible from afar (notwithstanding when the players tuck in the shirts)...the only way i see it becoming more visible would be to lighten the shade of green a bit, but then again those are the club's colours...

If they added the white in, I'd say 69-73. Either way, Kukri are on to a winner.

Rangers FC fan here, to be honest they all look great and good on Glentoran for giving the fans the choice. If I had to choose I'd go for 1969-73 and I agree with the Celtic fan the skyline on the strips is a really nice touch.
