Hull City 12/13 Adidas Home Football Shirt

Hull City revealed their brand new Adidas home kit for the 2012/13 season. The kit, manufactured by official kit supplier adidas, maintains their traditional amber and black colours in a smart and exciting new design.

Departing from the bold stripes that have dominated their home shirts for the past two seasons, the striking shirt immediately catches the eye and will be accompanied by black shorts and amber socks.

Marketing & Media Manager George Hudson said: "Since 1935 we have had a tradition of alternating between both striped and plain shirts.

"Although some fans prefer stripes and others do not, we think this unusual and striking design might bridge the gap and appeal to a wide section of fans - and who knows, if the ambition of the owners and Steve Bruce comes to fruition and we get promoted this season then it could well be remembered as an iconic shirt. We certainly hope so!"

I rather like it. Especially how the Adidias stripes don't dominate as they so often do. I'm sure the lack of black and orange stripes will offend purists, but perhaps it's rather refreshing to see a shirt that's not a clone of previous seasons.

Amber. It is amber. Not orange. Blackpool are closest to orange and even that's tangerine.

I agree with SMCL it looks like a goalkeepers shirt. It isn't a bad kit and at least something different from Adidas, hopefully I will get to like it before the pies go cold.

This is..... actually one of the best adidas efforts of season, so far. On short sleeve versions, the shoulder spaghetti will be much less dominant than on other shirts, which makes me incredibly happy.

Haven't seen this design before, which almost makes you think adidas went through the trouble of designing something for Hull. Would make sense, considering they are trying to overcompensating for their loss against Warrior for the Liverpool deal. Two birds with one stone; Warrior introduced some great kits, and adidas tries to step their game up.

That's actually really nice! Apart from the stupid sponsor.

That would make an awesome Watford kit - but with black socks!

Aside from the colour scheme this is just not a design that should have been intended for Hull. No stripes is the main beef I've got with it.

Hull haven't always played in stripes though. Who can remember the famous tiger print They used to wear just plain shirts so it's not like they're altering history. Is a real nice kit and Adidas have done some belters this time around.

We don't always have stripes, we tend 2 alternate between plain amber and black and amber stripes, we've had more succes in past decade in stripesind

This kit has caused a storm amongst city fans as it is currently for sale on the adidas team wear site for £10.50 (minus the badge and sponsor) big questions being asked of adidas giving smaller clubs like ourselves templates and how the clubs can justify charging £40-£50 when they are so cheap before club branding.

The general concensus on the design is that its ok but once again dissapointment at yet another lazy adidas template. Most city fans hate having crackconverters as the teams shirt sponser too so the real irony in all this is that most fans will end up buying the blank shirt and sewing on a tigers badge!

Bad move adidas & Mr Allam. Should have stuck with umbro!
