Juventus 12/13 Nike Home Football Shirt

The new Juventus Nike home kit for the 2012-13 season was presented at the Juventus Stadium, and is available here.

The modern yet classic design of the home kit marks the return of theiconic four very wide, vertical black stripes on the shirt which represent the four core values of the club - family, union, loyalty and honour - as expressed by the Agnelli family indicated as the fundamental pillars of Juventus when it took over the Club in 1923.

The historic motto coined by the president Giampiero Boniperti (‘Vincere Non È Importante È L’Unica Cosa Che Conta’ - Winning isn’t important, it’s everything), is the inner deck detail, while the outer neck graphic simply reads ‘Juventus’. The Eurostile font, sdesigned by Aldo Novarese for Nebiolo, one of the best-known printers in Turin, in 1962, has been reintroduced to the shirt.

The colouring for the names on the back of the jersey has gone back from yellow to black and the classic black box on the back for thenumbers in white has returned. The cuff and collar of the shirt are inspired by the 1951-1952 Scudetto (Shield) winning jersey.

The white short also has ‘Juventus’ in the Eurostile font on the back of the waistband.

The white socks have a black detail at the ankle and the top and again ‘Juventus’ in that same font. The socks also offer an innovative design featuring an updated cotton footbed for greater comfort and support.

“The partnership between Nike and Juventus is celebrating its tenth year with an extraordinary victory taking the Club back to the level that it has always rightly held.” - said Andrea Rossi, General Manager of Nike Italy. “This season, we’re giving the Italian Champions an iconic jersey, inspired by tradition but with a modern look and performance innovation giving players the very best on the pitch.”

Andrea Agnelli, president of Juventus, commented, “Today, we’re with NIKE once again for the presentation of the new black and white jersey, to honour the results achieved by Juventus last season. The 30th shield, won in the field, is sealed by a jersey that enhances the values of victory and the partnership between Juventus and NIKE, world leaders in sport.”

I'm pretty sure they considered using a yellow Jeep logo, but probably thought it would contrast too much between the black and white stripes.

Anyway nice kit though. Love the "30 on the pitch" thing. LOL

Probably the sponsorship doesn´t let them do that.

Or at least fit the whole black rectangle between the two black center stripes, so it doesn't interrupt it.

Yellow was also an option indeed.

how much "the sponsor" pay per inch in the kit??

I agree.

Though if you look at the pictures posted on Juventus' website you'll see that the player numbers on the back of the shirt are in a black box as well (quite nice), so therefore: could it be that the whole box thing is only to be consistent in their shirt design?

Could have put the Jeep sponsor in yellow with a thin black outline like the Nike logo is. Wish they did that with the numbers and names aswell so they didn't have to break the stripes on the back of the shirt.

Cute comment. Firstly Italy is one of the only countries that tackles football corruption head on, hence why it is out in the public arena. Now how about corruption elsewhere like Spain, England, Russia etc? You should be more concerned about the countries that continue to sweep it under the rug.

Now to behaviour on the pitch. If you are a real football fan you would have seen every game of Euro 2012. Now give me one example of Italy cheating and diving? Italy played some of the best football at the tournameny.

Go hide back under your rock.

1. What a whole load of nonsense to justify a stripe here and a font type there!!

2. No wonder, Moggi took Boniperti's motto to heart to try and ensure Juve won at all costs

3. Notice how they got rid of the stars altogether with the '30 Sul Campo' controversy. 30 won the pitch, my a**e! Moggi & co. worked it around to to ensure results went their way on the pitch.

4. It's high time, Juve accepted their sins and moved on instead of playing the victim endlessly to most people's chagrin.

5. And I'm still clueless as to how they could treat one of their most loyal, decent and good-natured servants in Alessandro Del Piero in the most disrespectful way possible - considering he didn't jump ship when they got relegated notwithstanding his positive influence on players and the game in general all these years. One of the few gentlemen in the game who played it in the right spirit, sportsmanship - none of the 'kicking up a fuss' when benched or substituted (which happened innumerable times over the years)

Totally agree.

Moggi cheated so that Juve could win on the pitch.

They've an excellent team. They should just wait a few more teams until they've won thirty on a fair playing field.

Nice kit, though.

Shirt looks good.

JEEP fits much better on the jersey than the BetClick sponsor.

This shirt looks tight on the pictures here but I want to see how it looks when I have it in my hands.

Being italian, I really do not understand the huge scudetto patch that champions wear on their kits... The kit is so-so, nothing special, Juventus traditionally have more stripes, the same goes for Inter, but every year a decent kit is ruined by that huge flag... They should create something better than that, something similar to the Coppa Italia badge or some golden sleeve patch like in every other major tournament (Bundesliga, Premier League, Liga...)
