"It’s a really nice kit, I’m really impressed," said skipper Steven Gerrard. "You never know what to expect when going from one sponsor to another, but I’m very impressed.
"It’s retro, it’s comfortable, it’s good on the eye and the yellow is back which, of course, is the natural colour of the Liverbird.
"The players look forward to seeing the new kit as much as the fans. It’s very important that the players are happy wearing it. The fans pay good money and I’m sure they’ll be as happy with it as I am."
Goalkeeper Pepe Reina expressed his delight after discovering his first choice colours at Anfield next season will be green.
"It’s an old fashioned goalkeeping top, like from the glory days – so hopefully it can help bring the glory days back for us," he said.
"My father always said to me goalkeepers have to wear green. If you wear a bright colour it can attract the attention of attackers, but with green it's like I’m going undercover!
"The idea was to go back to the past and for me it’s a pleasure to wear the same colour kit as the likes of Clemence and Grobbelaar.
"It’s important for all of us to see the new kit – it’s the start of a new era. I feel very proud to be at Liverpool. It’s my seventh season here and hopefully there will be many more."
And for Craig Bellamy, the new-look home shirt tips a nod to our glorious past while hopefully being symbolic of a successful future.
"It reminds me of the Liverpool kits from the seventies and early eighties and I’m going to be very fortunate to wear it,” added the Welsh striker.
"It’s a throwback to the earlier years when I was growing up watching Liverpool.
"At clubs like Liverpool the kits are always nice. It’s such an important jersey to wear, it means a lot. It’s a new era."
For the final word, we go back to the skipper who admits the buzz of wearing Liverpool colours remains as strong as ever.
"It makes me feel proud to wear the Liverbird on my chest," added Gerrard. "I am living the dream captaining one of the biggest clubs in the world and the club I have supported all my life.
"From a young boy I’ve always looked forward to seeing the new kits and now I’m wearing them it’s a special feeling."

But I'm glad they've finally got rid of the crest and got the Liver bird back! Looks classy imo but like I said the neck kills it!
Aye I like it back to the yellow liver bird from the 80's when Liverpool dominated Europe. Was in the BBC website that about the flames and "96" on the back of the shirt has angered the HJC (Hillsborough Justice Campaign) cos they were not consulted in the shirt but Liverpool & Warrior talked to the HFSG (Hillsborough Families Support Group)
Why dislike what he said ?
It's true Liverpool should have the flames and the 96
For Hillsborough , yes it's old Liverpool badge but 96 people died trying to watch them play , surely they should have something about that on their badge , makes me sad really
And shows the effect money has over the game these day
Liverpool you sold out 96 people , so I hope you can sleep easy I couldn't !
typical scousers always morbid and love a crisis
they haven't sold out 96 people as they are still have the internal flame with 96 on the neck
reina and suarez: im so sorry, we finished 8th
hahahahahah
Thank why you're making kis for Bolton. really makes sense.
LFC is Warrior's only football rep, therefore they will spend more time and devotion on the club. This leads to better kits, more money, and coincides with the owners evolution of the club.
Smart move
I agree, it's a brilliant classy kit! If the previous Adidas kits were a blonde bimbo with huge boobs, these are your perfect girl next door.
Where to start......
So wrong on so many levels
warrior than a good job
Our hasn't even been released or leaked yet so unless you work for Nike or Everton I don't see how you can say its better than ours.
have actually seen everton leaked kit of home and away
Where and what are they like?
Table cloths just came in lol
Also, what has happened to the badge?
too simple
its like back to the stone age
also does anyone know a better website than this for kit releases? I'm tired of how slow they are uploading
Liverpool and Adidas had a disagreement of price. Adidas rejected them which is why they changed sponsors.
It's kind of stupid, because Liverpool has a very large fan base.
Id rather they just kept it simple, stuck to the traditional colours, had a slightly retro feel and kept it classy instead of a load of bullshit and messing with a design. Liverpool are all red, they look better in all red, start messing with that, adding bits of piping and stuff and it looks shit. The new arsenal shirt is a prime example. red shirt plain white sleeves looks classy. 'cking hooped sleeves and blue on the shirt makes it look cheap and awful.
This is a quality strip.
And Gerrard looks like a giant. They all do.
I was well worried about the yellow logos, and I still don’t like the collar, but the kit has a classic and retro look that beats all. The yellow pulls it together.
Our lads will look 7 feet tall on the pitch like Shankly intended 50 years ago.
There’s a proper liverbird on the shirt like the legendary days of old and so much to love about this.
Our first all red kit since 2005, and we all know how special that year was for us.
I love this kit and I’m going to love our 7 foot legends playing in it.
COME ON, THE REDMEN!! DO THE SHIRT PROUD!!
it's not gone, it's under the collar on the rear side. Shame on FSC late and incomplete.
I'm sorry? What? Liverpool is not about the Liverbird?!?!?!
I think you're mistaken. Liverpool is actually not JUST about Hillsborough - it was a tragedy, the people will get justice and it deserves to be remembered and commemorated ... Like it has with it's own little bit of the shirt and in a classy way too.
Liverpool existed for close to a century BEFORE that incident and has had a much longer relationship with the Liverbird (with it being intrinsically linked to the city of Liverpool of course!) and deserves to be THE symbol of this club.
Shiver, you're so uniformed it's laughable.
I thought Warrior would bring a different point of view into the Premiership, but they've essentially copied the England, France and Everton shirts from the last 2 years.
The fit of Reina's shirt and the players shorts is shocking as well.
United, Arsenal, City and Chelsea are all looking to be modern clubs - where as we're still banging on about the past.
Nice touch on the back neck though.
NO IT DOESN'T.
It's perhaps a little bit too understated but will still look smart, better than that shiny horrible kit they had last year.
The majority that wont like it are little FIFA 12-playing fanboys who want nike or Adidas and wear disgusting bright neon plastic boots.
Grow Up.
Your taking it too personal! neon boots are ace so is Fifa! you grow up!
I've heard countless people say 'Who are Warrior!?' thinking that its some cheap unknown manufacturer. I don't give a ape's red ass-cheeks about 90% of teams kits, so I'm definitely not taking it too personal, its just annoying reading the same crap on every page.
Great to see the ‘new’ old-school gold badge back – although I hope the #jft96 feature on the back will be slightly more prominent.
Enjoyed waking up to see this shirt… shame I didn’t see it on this website first – heavy night last night boys? Sloooooow… waaay tooo slow.
Also, all please spare a though for the 56 who lost their lives in the Bradford City fire, 27 years ago today. Gone but not forgotten – YNWA
On the youtube video people said on picture it looks terrible but on video it looks nice. So shame on FSC
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
As for the Liverpool top i think it looks good, if it had an Adidas or a Nike logo everybody would love it, people are just slagging it because it's made by Warrior.
Not as good as the new Celtic home and away kits though.
Classic Design, Warrior needed to do something different to make themselves known, great start in my eyes, and I work in the business!
So im not a wannabe designer, chumps!
Also LFC where not stupid to bite Warriors arm off with the money they were waving round?!
ameblo.jp/pomerasky/
Gerrard is cool.
Shirt is not too cool.
Modern tradition is the word to best describe it. The Liverbird is the proper colour at last and the two flames with 96 in between it is a nice touch.
ironic that man united fans say that, whilst being part of the world's largest football fanbase. premier league wankers.
Nice to see that some foreign owners respect the history and tradition of their club.

I doubt whether they give a toss the Warrior deal is paying them £25million a year!!
I was worried as much as the next LFC fan was about Warrior replacing adidas mainly because we had no evidence of what they had produced in the past.
Everything about this kit oozes class, from the gold embroidery, simple club crest, subtle pin stripes, retro collar, slim fit.
Looks like Warrior may have quite a future in our beautiful game…
... and no more stripes on the shoulders.
H
Good color, beautiful Liverbird...
... and Liverpool got rid of those ugly Adidas stripes!
H
A lot of opposing EPL fans will be very envious of this design. Warrior done a great job afterall.
jersey is very trash
Away kit will be in a lovely green with yellow details, just as classy. These are the best kits in the Prem next season, from what we've seen so far. If this is Warrior's standard, I sincerely hope they'll supply kits to many more clubs, preferrably ones stuck with horrid Nike/Adidas/Puma teamwear.
Thumb me down all you like, Adi-drones, you just jelly.
I'm already affraid to discover the away and thrid kits...
Warrior should leave football at once !
People will moan but there opinion, atleast we havent got a tartan tea towel as a home shirt
The 90s paint factory explosions proved to us that when it comes to football kits, simple is better.
This is simple, classy, well made (on a par with the England shirts), a nod to tradition & considerably better than Man Utd's - and I'm a neutral...
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my days, It's Warrior! Hahahaha!
What an absolute joke = Warrior???? This looks like some type of americanised baseball jersey or something! Can't wait to see the training gear!
The shite are gonna look like a bunch of nuggets next season running round in that! Oh my days, Warrior! Hahaha This shit has cracked me up good and proper!
Waiting a year to say that load of old SH ite......you need to get a life my son
Stop hating on the king and show me some love.
You don't like it - cos I'm telling it how it is.
I have no idea what kind of weird carrot you have up your rectum, but it clearly has far more to do with Liverpool than it does with the kit.
Now. The new Manchester United kit. That has been declared the world over as one of the worst kits in the history of football, and has made them a laughing stock.
Yet...
If the kit would've been designed by Nike or Umbro everyone would be falling over themselves praising how clean and classy it is, and how Nike and Umbro are top brands. C'mon people.
And, not bad for starters.
Good thinking saving it from the scrap heap, adding some colour and re-branding it. Recycling is where its at!!!!!
Hate the club, but this is a very solid effort. Should be worn with pride.
Cheers,
I don't support Liverpool, but if warrior wanted to do something retro, why not do all the logo's the same, but with a white V-neck like the early 80's shirt? It just looks like a polo shirt and will probably cost about £50! They should have stuck with adidas.
Again i agree but whatever they wear is complete crap
LFC may or may not win the Premier League next year, but they will be the best-dressed team in the Premier League next year.
YNWA
censored head
If Umbro did it instead of Warrior everyone here would say that is the best shirt ever.
So Man city (who are probably gonna be champions) are not "premier cause they dont have nike or adidas kits? get ur facts straight mate
City have got nike you numpty!
Not until next year...
Considering the crap that Adihash & Nicked have been producing lately i rather have warrior than those overrated idiots who use baboons on MDMA as designers.
adidas still do the best kits, which at the moment are retro with a modern twist - witness the Germany away shirt based on the '72 but with modern stylings. Puma are running adidas a close second, their latest templates are simple and stylish. Nike had a golden era around '06 - they did some gorgeous kits back then - but nothing really nice since then. Umbro have really lost their way - I remember the late '90's Man Utd kits which were really classy - but the modern kits, especially the England navy away polo shirt (what happened to red?). And all these smaller suppliers...Macron shirts just look dated to me, and this Warrior Liverpool shirt is just naff, but it WILL be interesting to see what Under Armour do in football - their rugby shirts are really nice, so we'll see. Anyone agree?
This kit is as plain as that England Home kit Umbro made but now i know why people loved that kit so much... it was just because of the brand. Replace that Kit with a Macron logo and the fans could proclaim it as an all time worse.
Everyone should know how much money was given to Liverpool for warrior to sponsor the kit compared to the spare change adidas gives to them. No one expected this shirt to be good so people keep on bashing the brand and not shirt.
I think the sponsor should have been white though. A collar on a Liverpool home shirt is rare, perhaps a white V-neck or crew neck and it would have been perfect.
i agree the gold doesent make it stand out but it will when we hold that trophy
2. the kit should have the 'real' logo
3. the brand and sponsor colour should be white
4. liverpool should have a normal brand
Quite like the kit to be honest. Smart and the badge looks better than the tacky one they usually have. They must be pleased with warriors efforts after being dropped by Adidas for being a mid table team.
i hate you and your mouth
*steals hubcaps*
The Eternal Flame emblem is on the back of the shirt to honour the 96. Besides, LFC shouldn't have to justify anything they put on or omit from their shirt. The emblem was first added to the Liverpool shirt/crest in 1993. Were LFC "dissing" the victims/families between 1989 and then?
There's also a memorial at Anfield commemorating the victims and the terrible event in 1989. Isn't that enough?
#JFT96 #don'tbuythesun
if this slogan will run down from left and right shoulders like
adidas and nike(sometimes) do with strips and instead of letter
W in the word WALK use stylized W from the kits manufacturer company's logo. Same do with shorts too. Will be something
originally.
and I hate liverpool!
