norway 12/13 umbro home away football shirt

These are the new Norway 12/13 home and away football kits made by Umbro, which will be available here.

The home and away kits have the same basic design: Solid respectively red and white with a dark blue strip running vertically down the chest on the left - behind the familiar round emblem with the Norwegian flag.

Umbro is doing a great job in the last few years, very elegant kits. Perhaps this one looks a bit too simple, but maybe it's because they use the national flag instead of their national federation badge.

Bit of a mix and match element about these kits too. no reason why away shorts and socks cant be paired with home shirt and vice versa

Very good, love the away kit in particular! However, I think the badge makes it look like one of the national team default kits on Fifa!

True enough, most national teams don't play with the nations flag on the chest.

In 2008 when the National Football Association in Norway (NFF) decided to replace the flag with their own logo embedded in a norse dragon, there was a massive protest amongst football fans all over the country. They listened to the people, and thrashed the dragon emblem.

We Norwegians take great pride in our nations flag, which reflects the great celebrations on the national day, every year on May 17.

So we don't mind having the "default" looking kits!

Wow, the home kit is simply fantastic. By far, the best I've seen for Norway. There are many Adidas and Nike fans, but the pure reality is that only Umbro never disappoints...

the badge makes it looks like it a pretend shirt that next or top man would sell

and the photos have to be the worst i've seen from what i assume is a proper photo shoot for the kit

The flag badge is an age old tradition. They tried changing it a few years ago and there was such an outcry by both fans and players they had to ditch it. Pleying with the flag on the chest is synonymous with representing Norway, and even commonly used by other sports even though they don't actually use it!

So this is what a football top would look like if made by ASDA George......

At the end of the day if norway are so proud of playing with their flag as their crest then why didn't Umbro just make a horizontal pattern joining up the Umbro logo and the Norway badge??? Then they would be playing literally in their flag!

Is it just me it is this suggestion too obvious?
