Olympique Marseille 12/13 adidas third football shirt

Olympique Marseille launched the new reversible 12/13 third football shirt made by Adidas, which will be available here. It was designed by two artists, Akhenaton, leader of the Marseille hip-hop group IAM, and designer Pablo Reinoso.

WATCH THE ADIDAS VIDEO HERE FOR MORE INFO

Side "A" of the shirt is black and orange, and will be used in matches.

Side "B" of the shirt is completely orange, a colour taken from the South Winners supporters group who wore their bomber jackets inside out to show their commitment against racism in the face of rival bomber-wearing skinhead fans. The same colour can be found on the 12/13 home shirt.

since AS Roma have a Burgundy strip with orange trim, i'd say no, especially as the orange shirt is NOT a competitive shirt.

well yeah, but saying AS ROMA because they had an away shirt in those colours is slightly dumb and vague do you not think? Thats like looking at chelsea's new home shirt and saying 'man utd' because they had a blue away shirt a few times.

Agree for the template...
but it is still a reversible shirt with a graffiti on the back and
nice stripes at the end of the sleeves.

At least the ligue 1 have fun with third shirts.

It's been massively mocked in France, because it has a spelling mistake in that "poem" on the back.
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

+1 # 2012-05-22 07:35
The embarrassing poem: instead of "our hearts are orange like the waves at sunset" (which lots of their fans said they hate anyway as a sentiment - orange has nothing to do with l'OM) it says "our hearts are oranges like the waves at sunset..."

Plus the fact that it's reversible means it costs 90 euros on the Marseille website.

Like it and the video for it was really good too. Like the idea of the orange being seen through the jersey depending on the way people move. Not as bold as usual for Marseille but still a great concept behind it saluting their fans.

It's the smartest kit i've ever seen. My brain is blown away by the inside-outside design. They could really have this as the away shirt(just add the sponsor's logo to the inside), too, I mean 2-in-1. Very smart.

What utter crap !! Welcome to the new colors of OM. ORANGE !!! we're competing with the Netherlands and Syracuse University here. Home shirt was bad. This is the final insult to all of us OM fans who aren't members of the South Winners group. If there's a hint of orange in the away shirt, I will go apesh*t.

As alluded to before, the template is simple, but when the shirt is worn with the black side out and the wearer stretches it over his muscles, the orange shows through. It's pretty clever. I still prefer Marseille's light blue, but the sentiment behind the orange is admirable.

From a design perspective this is interesting, but being two layers might be heavier than other shirts of the same material.

Yes, I watched the video.

Part of me applauds the effort, another part says "yeah, but it's only going to be worn by fat middle aged blokes at five a side mostly, innit?"

Closer to the spectacular kits they've had over the past seasons than the new home kit, but still not there. Glad to see that they changed the sponsor's logo's color for this one, though. That Inter Sport logo just ruined the new home jersey...

All in all, I hope OM will have better jerseys for the 13/14 season.

Totally awesome shirt. I think its really original and I love the fact that its reversable, its a great colour combo too and the extra design details lift it out of potential blandness. Some of the French club sides seem to go for too much detail and way too many sponsors - I think this strikes a good balance.
