Santos 2012 nike 100th anniversary football shirts

Santos marked its 100th anniversary with a new high performance white home kit and the third kit in turquoise blue reminiscent of the colonial heritage of the city of Santos.

The shirts also features rich detailing of the clubs renowned history. Inside the collar, it reads Menino da Vila desde 1912 (“The Vila Belmiro crew since 1912”), a tribute to the club’s long list of superstar players. The font and numbers on the jersey were inspired by the stamp styles that are found on containers in the port of Santos City. On top of the jersey’s crest, a crown separaes the dates "1912 – 2012." The shorts have stylish stitching detail on the sides.

In line with Nike’s commitment to superior athletic performance and lower environmental impact, the fabric of the new kit’s shorts is made with 100% recycled polyester, while the fabric of the shirts is made with at least 96% recycled polyester.  Each kit is made using an average of 13 recycled plastic bottles.

Personally I thought that for the 100th anniversary kits they'd have done more here. Still not a bad effort and good looking kits but a special occasion should be a bit more 'special' in this case.

ii can buy a white shirt at a local store, and draw those sponsors and the swoosh and i just made the santos kit for about $7 bucks instead of paying $50-60 for it.

The Santos white kit is actually the away. The home is a striped white and black shirt with black shorts and socks. But the white kit became more famous.

Actually the original Home Kit is the b/w striped, and white socks and shorts, but the white kit (originally Away) became more famous, then, since the 60's, the striped+black shorts+black socks became the away kit, and the 'all white' became the home kit. The striped shirt is scheduled to debut in september, Nike wants to sell the blue kit before they release the official Away kit.
