Southampton have unveiled their new Umbro home and away kits for the 2012/13 Barclays Premier League season.
The club goes marching on with two fresh designs that are set to make an impact with Saints in the top-flight in the forthcoming campaign.
The predominantly red home strip is complemented by a white away kit that sets itself apart from recent designs to embrace the new era of Premier League football for the club.
The all new away kit will be on sale in store and online from Saturday 14th July on the day of the Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup.
Thanks to Ben

Guess we will launch a 3rd kit.
to me this allways seems like 'changing stuff for the sake of changing stuff'.
The downside of this is that clubs now care more about the billions (or potential billions) they could market their club to rather than all those who have been supporting and going to games for years - Cardiff have sold thier souls whilst Man U have been one of the worst for blocking players joining up with the England squad ...... only to take them on a mini tour of China shortly after.
so probably just cus they wanted their first season back in the prem to be a bit different
Cortese didn't make the kit did he you moron
True, although this departure is nothing new,the Patrick shirts from the 80s can hardly be classed as stripey.
those first Patrick kits were ace...especially the light blue/dark blue/white away
For instance Leeds did not wear white till the 60's, fans at the time probably thought it would be weird and losing history. But now Leeds not in white is unimaginable!
Yeah, and?
Ted Bates, Bobby Stokes, Peter Osgood, John McGrath-all spinning!
the patrick kit 1980-83ish? best kit you had, david puckett!!

Having said that, I think that this is a step too far. Personally, the 125 years shirt was brilliant, and it would have been cool to see the saints in something like that. These kits are quality, as usual for umbro, but don't really suit the saints. They look more suited to Forest to be honest, with the pinstripes.

Fitting in eh
True. There is so much you can do with stripes - you can make them narrower, wider, add a third colour as pinstripes, put pinstripes in the middle of the main stripes, remove the stripes from the sleeves, make the stripes on the sleeves the same orientation as the ones on the shirt (A la Man City change), add a yoke to the shirt, vary how far the stripes continue up or down the shirt, make the collar and/or cuffs contrast, use paint effects on the stripes, use different shades of colour on the stripes, make the stripes wavy (USA Change kit for 1994), just off the top of my head.
So, not much you can do with stripes then
for southampton they need more white on the shirt and black shorts. then they could get away with not having stripes, like in the 80's.
If I were a forest fan I'd be hoping they get something like this, maybe swap the shorts round.
you use the word censored as an insult, yet you are asking those 'censoreds' to 'soc ure coc'.
you sound very confused, do not hate yourself for liking men, sit back, relax with a copy of Attitude and dig out your Right Said Fred Album. you are a censored man you should be proud!
oh! the shirt?
Nice, put white sleeves on the red or red sleeves on the white, black shorts and either kit would work as they are though be nice for Swindon.
The away strip is superb; well done Umbro.
What a ridiculous reason to change a club's kit away from it's traditions, you don't throw away your club's identity to celebrate a promotion (or for the sort of marketing nonsense this so obviously really is). Dreadful, really dreadful., I'm no Southampton fan but this has really annoyed me.
They look more Middlesbrough or Liverpool in my opinion
Certain relegation?
How can you tell, the season hasn't even started yet?!
Both are naff kits and deluded fans

What's with the all red thing, though? Surely they should at least be in black shorts. In fact, the away shirt and black shorts could have been a decent home strip.
I'm glad you are not a kit designer. With black black shorts the kit would look uneven (if you know what i mean)
I agree. I would also add white socks on the home and then the reverse for the away.
...or just refuse to buy it, if they sell no shirts the club will soon listen to the fans for future kits.
he is su-shi man
If they were going to abandon the stripes they could have gone for the one they had a couple of years ago to celebrate their anniversary or indeed harked back to the Kevin Keegan kit.
If I was a Southampton fan, I would be very disappointed.
Also, those stripes.......it doesn't fells like Southamptom.....
I remember Pompus fans threatening my 5 year old son and me at our first away game. Very brave. I hate Portsmouth and you sir are a first class turd. Now censored off back to Fareham and go have censored with your sister (again). Enjoy life in whatever league you are in these days, so glad the Administrators caught up with your corrupt little shite club.
Enjoy the 'big' derbies with Bompey and Crawley. Tee hee.
dont you say that about cheltenham!
NOT!!
