Sunderland has unveiled the brand new away kit for the 2012-13 Barclays Premier League campaign, which will be available here.
The new kit, featuring adidas branding and Invest In Africa sponsorship, will be launched on Thursday 5th July. At the same time the club's three retail stores will re-open with a brand new look, following extensive refurbishment.

Joining forces for the first time in 133 years with leading manufacturer adidas, Sunderland's striking new away kit sports the brands famous three stripes, along with the latest performance technology including ClimaCool and Formotion. Formotion technology combines fabrics with different properties to aid lower body power and movement on a football pitch. ClimaCool is a moisture wicking fabric which regulates body temperature by taking heat and sweat away from it.
The club's new partner, Invest In Africa, is emblazoned on the front of the shirt. A first in British football, the partnership aims to promote the continent's credentials as a key global business destination along with offering businesses across the North East and beyond the opportunity to explore unique opportunities in the emerging territory.

Next please
Adidas are so boring.
As for the design, pretty sure this is just another template, complete with the trademarked stripes plastered on the shoulders. Must be the world's easiest job, being a designer at adidas.
I wonder if the sponsor would've looked better if it had been in turquoise as well
No, it really wouldn't
crap kit btw.
But I hope the home strip is better
I think the colours work well, and the kits pretty simple.
Not very unique in terms of the design, but still pretty smart.
Decent effort!
Oh and for the idiots moaning about templates, get a grip, EVERYTHING is a template.
You dont see people moaning that TV manufacturers use a template because they use a rectangular screen with a bezel, with slightly different shapes on the bottom lip do you?
Yes but TVs and football shirts are completely different products aren't they. The problem is that adidas have a very limitwd number of templates that churn out over and over again. And those templates are generally crap.
adidas, nike & puma all use templates, they can't do a club specific jersey for all clubs when you are supplying as many clubs as these big brands do.. what you do get is quality product from the big brands.. can't be said of the smaller brands..
Well spotted. But if you had read my comment you would understand that my issue isn't with the use of templates but the poor design and overuse of adidas templates. Sunderland's away kit last year was the same template as Lille's home kit and Rangers' and Ath. Bilbao's away kit. However, the design of that template and the use of different colour combinations made each kit feel suitably different from the other- adidas don't appear capable of doing that with their templates.
As for the big brands, I'd rather see a smaller brand produce a relatively unique kit than have a 'big name' template. Any difference in quality is arguable
Nice
Because it's an away kit you fool!! The home will look more like a Sunderland kit wouldn't you agree?!!
You are a fine wit aren't you?
Why are adidas picking up such crap teams these days? Template after template putting out crap. They only the bigger clubs they have get their own custom shirts.
Pretty sad really as they used to be brilliant. Sunderland should have stuck with Umbro.
People on this site say nice kits are horrible and horrible kits are nice, your in need of a trip to ya local specsavers and get a free pair on behalf of the NHS
Thankyou, goodnight. Much Love
For a PL club - that is a fail!
Anyone else have any opinions?
Yeah...theyre not making you buy the shirt or the training kit....by a retro one, never goes out of fashion,no sponsor on it,wear it for years-happy days
got all of the retro tops mate, to be honest they are better quality
Stop moaning then
So, because you don't happen to like the kit that we're gonna be wearing, you're considering taking your support to another club?
Some 'die-hard' you are, like...

so you know all about the price hike? the way the club aint looking after fans anymore? the way the pound signs are getting in the way. Totally shite if you ask me. Can i ask how much it cost you to renew your season ticket? and how long youve had it consistantly
i actually quite like the kit but won't be buying, the club get the money from kitbag on a yearly basis anyway
Coming up 16 years at the SOL, 10 years previous to that at Roker Park.
well pretty much the same time as me, do you not find the commercial side of things getting out of hand?
You are just in a habit of criticising Adidas
The kit isn't that bad
i very much agree
....Just so long as the Africans that you're investing in don't cost you 13million, do bugger all all season, then hand in a transfer request the day after deadline day, then sod off to play in a tinpot league in the Gulf for oodles of cash....
Nothing to do with your comment, but...
Still Champs??
Don't think that club exists.
Anyhoo have fun being humped by Peterheid!
Is different and works ok

You've got to be kidding. Even the Avec shirts we had prior to the move to the SoL were better than this!
I hope he sends it soon because somebody seems to be taking money out of my account as soon as I put it in.
