Sunderland AFC has revealed its brand new Adidas home kit for the 2012-13 Barclays Premier League season, which will be available here.
The new strip is now available to pre-order and will go on sale at 8am on Thursday 9 August.
Sunderland's traditional red and white shirt sports the famous three stripes of adidas, and features the latest ClimaCool fabric designed to regulate the body temperature and actively conduct heat away from the body.

The black shorts are trimmed with red and, in a change to last season, the players will sport black socks with a red trim.

The new Palace kit is made by Avec who have been around since at least 1994. In the past they've made kits for Sunderland, Sheff Utd, Hull and a variety of other clubs. The new Palace shirts are also very, very nice. And made all the better because Avec have limited the extent of their branding on the shirts. Something that you can't say about adidas.
erm no...they aren't
Matter of opinion really, isn't it. I think they look great. But that's because I base my opinion on what a shirt looks like and how well its designed. Not whether or not its good a Nike or adidas logo on it.
It didn't work for Newcastle and it doesn't work for Palace in my opinion
soo its shit because we havent got a template kit again and done our own style to bring more money into the club, grow up and learn about football
That could be said for every season and any club in red and white stripes.
The two shirts this season are actually quite different, considering they are both red and white stripes
Funny you should say that, I always think it should be red - a la 1973, Gabbiadini/Gates, Byrne 1992, Phillips (Nike kits)
Africa is a fairly poor place economically, yeah.
Would prefer this to what Saints have anyway
Different to what???!!! Its just another overused adidas template
The sponsor doesn't really fit with the kit - but it's a good cause, so that's more important.
What are you talking about?! Have you even seen the Stoke shirt?
As a Sunderland fan, I love it.
The last 2 Umbro ones were great, but they also made a few that were pretty $h!t and totally overdesigned.

So retro to see that badge - what will Sevco be using?
Most probably boredom. Sunderland are one of the most tedious teams in the country and ragdolling the clown with the dead club badge is a welcome diversion
Overall though, very disapointed with this
Ya, i am agreeing zis.
Buy a Live Aid DVD
suits sunderland.
Funny that sunshine, got any more hilarious quips?
Tool.
I am head of Invest in Africa and have many ways you can invest in my country please be forward to me your bank details at your fastest convenence to enable the transfer to complete.
Thanking you
It would look much better with black trim & would stop the Stoke comparisons
Most noticeable thing for me too. Are adidas that poor that they can't tweak a template to add a third colour?
It is very rare that Sunderland have black trim on their home shirts, not sure how reliable this is but i can only count 6 of the 60 shirts that have black trim:-

But look at those strips again and there is black in the form of the manufacturer's logo, some black outside of the badge for right back thirty years. It is something as simple as that that adidas could have done to make this unique to Sunderland.
For those of you saying its the same as Stoke's kit, its not- but it is exactly the same template as West Brom.
The problem with adidas' over-aggressive branding is that you get the impression that this is an adidas shirt with a Sunderland badge on it. Rather than last season's which was clearly a Sunderland shirt made by Umbro (if you can appreciate the distinction).
I'm not a massive fan of adidas but if some thought had gone into either of this season's kits we could have had something really nice. The use of the current Germany away template or the Wolfsburg template in royal blue would have made an away kit very similar to the 1988-91 blue hummel away kit. I'm sure that would have been popular with SAFC fans.
The only good thing about this kit is 'Invest in Africa'
That can better. This is not adidas.
This
How about investing in our OWN country before we hand out more of our money to ruthless dictators!
I have always had a soft spot for Sunderland ever since 1973 so good luck next season boys!
*mocks deluded unwashed censored*
Everyone has to be a fan of stock, the more you have the better. Rum a TUn TUn i can't seem to speak today and yes i think i have quoted myself.
that makes a lot of sense, good comeback!
s.hitting hell i hadn't even noticed that, amazing the things you easily miss. Not sure why he has a different colour kit on, maybe he's the referee?
I agree, they are no Stoke or West Brom! Maybe if things go well next season and finish higher in the league they may get more of a bespoke kit, until then I think adidas only try if a club is in the top six of the top leagues.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha censored off Jack!!
right back at you
What a come back!! Brilliant, you are one clever boy Jack.
i wish adidas or would put more time and effort into their kits, with every team. i mean it's not like they can't afford to?
What?
