Am I the only one who feels ripped off for the one released just before Xmas? I mean, there's a fan kit AND a team kit? I'd have been okay about that if they told us that when they released it, but I feel a bit ripped off to be totally honest

They always said that the one that Gareth Bale modeled was a supporters shirt and not the actual kit.

There was a tonne of news about what the point in it was

It was even covered on this very website http://www.footballshirtculture.com/11/12-kits/team-gb-adidas-london-2012-commemorative-shirt.html

You can only blame yourself for the confusion

Who's the daft prick now eh?

in Scotland we do have good players but we don't get the coverage that England get, we have players who would fit right into team gb, but why would we want to, we should'nt even be part of Great Britain we want independance and have our own rights away from GB, i'll be supporting who ever team GB is playing against as i will be during the euro 12.

Cheers for the subsidies  Free healthcare up here and on the verge of a nice wee economic breakthrough on the renewables front. And we have our own Parliament. And our country isn't turning into an Islamofacist rape shed like yours. Enjoy it, the Union won't last much longer and I know who will lose then ;-)

Aaaaaand that's why a large proportion of Scots hate the English.

Thanks Craig. No need to discuss anything sensibly with the likes of you around, you're winning the argument for Scotland there pal.

It originates from Scotland, ergo it is a Scottish name.
So giving shite to Scotland with a scottish name reeks of hypocrisy.
Understand now you stupid muppet???

Outstanding work Craig

Blood vessel throbbing in the forehead

Without Scots oil and Welsh coal your third word English dump would already be at sub Albanian living standards. Now we are sharpening up we'll leave you behind, big beer belly and fat red face, watching Wayne et al crash out again in the second round. Hard lines, your time is over, maybe you can come up to Scotland and we'll give you a job, professional scarecrow or something

'Designed by Stella McCartney,...'

Says it all, really.

A bad design, created by someone who knows bugger all about football, and has only really ever gotten anywhere in life because Daddy could play guitar a bit.

Dont see the big deal about the colours. First of all the British Olympic team has always worn blue and white as its primary colours. Second of all the beauty of The Union Jack is that it's so iconic that it is recognisable in any colours. Could the French Tricolore do that?

Kit - the whole union flag thing is a chav-tastic nightmare. I would have thought a designer like SM and Adidas could have conjured up something better. And it's SKIN TIGHT! Most people watching the games are doing so cos they are NOT built like a cyborg!

British argument - being part English and part Scots im proud of both - but as we all stood shoulder to shoulder in the two biggest wars this island has ever faced, it saddens me that all the bickering about 'conquering Scotland' or the 'Union being outdated' comes up - separate proud nations existing together. Did us alright in the darkest of days - maybe folk should not blank this out when harping on about history - whichever way you see it.

The actual design of the shirt is nice. But when it comes to the Union Jack, you don't mess with the colours. The Union Jack is 1 of the most iconic flags in the world so to use other colours is sacrilege.Shame really

Gordon plays for the team i support, there is a reason why he is being released on a free after we paid around 9 million for him. Class shot stopper but a kitten would have more chance of comanding its area and collecting a cross against a big team.

going back to the more important issue scotland's glorious little leader is too scared to have a yes/no vote because he knows which way that vote would go - instead he has to have a halfway option that leaves scotland claiming to be independent but still has england to bail it out

I am embarrassed to be British reading these posts.

We have a pretty unique group of nations that who make up Britain. But no wonder Scotland want out....with the English comments...and no wonder English people think Scotland are petty and bitter...reading the Scottish posts. We're quite lucky here on this island, and not many people realise it...
Guest

Read all the the posts on this page, thats why the other countries laugh at GB. We do nothing but embarrass ourselves with our petty little arguments .I like to have a laugh and a joke about it but i think most people on this page are serious, its sad in all honesty.

As a football fan, I totally understand why all of the Home Nations are against this. But it's just one competition, and technically, you are one country. I get that you're different. I really love Great Britain. I also love each country for it's own unique culture. But really, you're no more different than the northern U.S. is from the southern U.S. and trust me, you think Bin Laden hated New York, people from Alabama REALLY hate New York. So just chill. I envy all of you, because you get to live in Great Britain, and you live in a country that actually respects football.
Guest

Speak 4 yourself, who says the US doesnt respect football? You're the one disrespecting football by saying this and you're part of the problem. Just went to a NYRB game with 22,000 fans that respect football....stop being naive

design wise i actually like it (finally a adidas shirt without the 3 lines) i like the combinations of blue with the union jack, however i can see the dislike towards changing the colors of the union jack. if nike or adidas ever took old glory and changed its colors i definitely protest

kinda glad, the other FA's did not want any part in this. especially northern Ireland i mean , more northern athletes would probably be lining out for the Irish Olympic team then the British one, and yea while in football we may have two FA's but at least if we ever wanted to have a united team again it would make some sense.

A British team just seems kinda pointless to me.
Guest
-10

Guest

to be fair alot of northern Irish fans and even players feel the other way.

why is it pointless since it works in many other sports ?.

plus lets be honest the north is losing players
cause alot of players up there dont feel any real attactment
to the north team and feel closer to the republic,
a united team would change that
Guest
+8

Guest

What about the people who are proud to represent and support a Northern Ireland team? Your plan would take their team away from them. I for one would not support a united Irish football team. If you support a united Ireland then you already have a team to play for or support... that team is the Republic of Ireland football team. For the record, I don't support the Ireland rugby team either. (And there are plenty like me.)
Guest

Guest

i guess this is not the place, for this. but i dont see it as
not taking anything away from them. Why would they not consider a united team their own?. And yes i do to a point consider the Republic of Ireland almost a united team, considering how mixed the squad is.

But would also like to see a proper one that could represent the hole island. It would be best for the players and the fans

My Friend once saw a united Ireland team play against world champions Brazil in the 70s, this shows that player who play for the north would still line out for a united team (sure Niall McGinn a north player even said he was a fan of the south, and yet some NI fans gave him horrible stick for it)

simple fact is many northern Irish athletes will be line out for the Irish Olympic team, as well as the united Rugby team, Gaelic football team, Cricket team, Curling, Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, Golf, Handball etc, and fans will support those teams. Football can be the same
Guest
+9

Guest

But you see it wont be the same because many Northern Irish people "don't feel any real attachment" to the Republic of Ireland and will not support a united Irish team (in any sport you care to mention) because we have been brought up with NI being set apart... and that's just how we like it. A % of NI people also have much more of a connection with the UK (because that after all is our country) - hence people being genuinely excited with the prospect of the GB & NI Olympic football team. Those that have a connection with the Republic can play for the FAI team or support them - it's their choice. So really, we're going round in circles here. In the end I think it's better the way it is because the IFA team, the FAI team and the GB&UK team caters for every viewpoint.

That is an absolute shambles. What's worse is that the fans' kit released last year - which I don't like either - won't be used. An absolute disgrace.

they did make it clear when the fans kit came out that the tam wouldn;t be using it. I think the clue is in the name - "Fan's Kit"?

People on here ripping into scotland, sorry, but when did Team GB become "Team England & Others"? and seeing as the most successful managers in england are in fact scottish, and the fact that any player with any talent from scotland, you try and pick them up at a low price speaks volumes!

With Money, comes arrogance, scotland knows its limitations, England are too self indulgent to even consider it.

Im from neither england or scotland, but you fools who argue oover silly little things like the colour of a football shirt seriously have no concept towards football as a whole.

I really hope that the majority of people on here are just trolling each other (in regards to the Britain debate). If that is not the case, may I suggest you make more informed statements.

This reminds me of the question time audience. Face-palms all the time. Life Lesson --> Research and learn before making and asserting your opinion!!!

appreciate that they're trying to do something different with it, and as a scot, I don't care whether it has red in it or not, as I don't really feel british anyway, so I wouldn't buy a team GB shirt, not that I want there to not be a team GB as it is really upto whoever wants to be a part of it and whoever out of that group are judged to be good enough to take part for the whole of GB I accept and appreciate that I belong to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or Great Britain (whichever context you like) and yes, my heart says yes to independance and my head says stay in the UK but at the end of the day it is only an olympic football shirt..... lets be honest, if it wasn't the year of the London olympics then would we all as football fans really give a shit about this shirt??? i've never seen so much attention on this site about any previous Team GB football shirts....... let those who like it buy it, let those who support team GB in any olympics buy it or not, it will not dminish their support for the team, end of

Also as for the scotland england argument, if england are substidising scotland that much, why is it the unionist parties and so determined to keep a hold of scotland, if they are that much of a burden they would surely be dying to get rid of them??

www.tribesandfashion.com is a website where you can create your own apparel, their designers can help you design your shirts for you! You can make a better GB uniform there (put some red in there!) :)

Hurry, they have an Olympic theme sale going on. :)

Got one of these, they aren't skintight at all (talking about the 'regular' retail version here).. In fact, when it arrived, it looks far too bloody big! Adidas football jerseys always seem to be sized bigger than Nike though, so I probably should have ordered one size smaller.
