The adidas 94 jersey with vertical wavy stripes passed you by then? I like this, however a decent shirt for your average FC Dallas fan...similar to their home shirt.

This is crap. Why can't we stick to a consist style and identity like most national teams. The logo needs to go its shitty 90s clip art and they are going to put stars on it (which is a whole other issue for World Cup etc.) why only put three? Gross.
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

+1 # 2011-11-22 07:22
I totally agree that the crest is awful (some kind of roundel with the US Seal's bald eagle and a soccer ball, something like the new Germany emblem would be ideal) but I'd keep some stars within the crest, just to be obstinate. The only issue for World Cup etc is putting stars ABOVE the crest. Put as many as you want in them and it's cool.

As for the jersey, I've never liked vertical stripes OR hoops on a jersey, so I am not optimistic about this one.

I'm calling this a fake. The flag on the inside of the collar is inconsistent with what Nike is doing (with the coiled snake) and is probably covering up some other mark. The badge (or if you prefer, crest) is the pre-2006 design (shape of the shield, shade of blue, lack of gold outline). I'm fairly confident this is a fake...and thank god

hopefully it is, its nice if only the stripes were less thick, or make them look like a water mark with the same french away template, the flag sort of makes it look fake as well but we can be so sure yet.

07/08 was an update of the traditional Lisbon Lions shirt that was worn from the 60's into the 70's

I see your point though. Celtic tops seem to follow the Template that Man Utd gets or the Euro 20XX shirts

Interesting that this shirt has a sublimated area on the back (as UEFA calls for in the CL and Europa League for hoops or stripes), to add the number. This shirt also looks to have a sublimated area in the front center to add a number. Thus all US shirts that have had that "blank" area, look to be missing something on the replica unless it gets personalized.

I can just see this shirt at CP with a green ringer collar and no sublimated front area (or rear area)

I bet this means you can expect the blue away to be blue, covered in white stars, with red trim. When the red shirt came out I was telling my friend the next time they changed I bet they'd go in this direction. I don't know how I feel. Also, the U.S. Red shirt on the us soccer website says 2011-2012. So will they be keeping the red shirt they currently wear??

to be honest i like it, although me personally i always liked USA in a Pure White (white shirt white shorts white socks) kits. but i guess change is ok every now and again. kinda sad that Nike didnt keep USA with a All White kit but this is not bad actually. kinda dig it. i hope the away kit is like a all black kit like the USWNT. maybe black and a hint of red. but i like what others suggest, a blue with some stars or something. hey at least its not the same old 3 lines over and over again

This kit is terrible. White/red hoops for an American team is painfully literal. Bad design - let's hope this shirt is a fake.

USMNT needs an identity (such as Argentina's white/blue stripes, the Dutch orange). The kits change dramatically every two years and we haven't established a look - not even a standard color for our home shirt. The current sash should stay - it was simple, referenced a past kit, and could be easily incorporated going forward.

God I hate that my country is the only one that tries to tailor its national flag into a soccer jersey. I thought one of the traditions about the U.S. flag is that it's discouraged to make clothing depicting it. That's why the current jersey has a sash and a rattlesnake around a soccer ball. Obviously fake as the current three jerseys are scheduled to remain in use at least until 2012. . .

well it'd be weird looking without the number in front and the name behind. it will be just 2 blank spaces

Dear God,

And this is why America has such a difficult time increasing the sports popularity on a national level. We'll look like a bunch of candy canes heading out onto the pitch.

I think the USA needs to get a shirt and design that defines them and stick with it. Is their home shirt blue, white, red? It seems like they can't decide from year to year what the basic template of their home kit should be. Plus they have so many great symbols and colors they can work with.

This shirt is terrific. So glad they lost the sash! and this is classic. Glad we are switching it up alot, american style! Never Satisfied

Didn't lose the sash. It's still there under the swoosh ... and now with crappy ass red bars. What else can we add to this?? How about the snake as well? Put that under the crest! Kitchen sink goes on the sleeve! This thing sucks.

For the love of any god please let adidas make the USA kits again. I'm so tired of nike throwing random things on soccer jerseys and making them 'exciting'.

The USMNT needs to just find a basic pattern and stick with it. They've been all over the map throughout their history and it seems like this is exacerbating that. The design's not bad in and of itself (though it looks like a rugby shirt to me) but it is genuinely awful as an enduring national symbol.

That's cause we call it soccer here, and our good athletes don't play it.
It is seen as a small child's game here.

Quoting truth:

Nobody really cares if your coutry like it or not, Usa is and always will be plain garbage at FOOTBALL, the game don't need american approval or participation. BTW your sports are just stupid everywhere in the world.

So burn that flag if you must! But before you do, you'd better burn a few other things! You'd better burn your shirt and your pants! Be sure to burn your TV and car! Oh yeah, and don't forget to burn your house!
Because none of those things would exist without six red stripes, seven white stripes, and a helluva lot of stars!!

Not good but I don't like the ones we have now. The sash thing is ugly in my opinion. These new ones look like my rugby team's kit though.

The problem with this jersey: it's FC Dallas.

You CANNOT expect fans of Houston Dynamo and USMNT to wear THIS!

Imagine if England changed to a claret and sky jersey or Spain went with blaugrana stripes.

FAIL.

Here's what some believe to be the away kit. All fears realized. Honestly I don't think it's a bad concept as far as having one kit be the stars one the stripes, just think it was poorly executed. http://www.majorleaguesoccertalk.com/us-mens-national-team-away-shirt-for-2012-13-revealed-leaked-photo-15097

These are only okay if Tim Howard and the other goalkeepers wear blue shirts with white stars. Pre-game line up would be epic human flag situation. Not likely.

Well, reminds me of a Carribean country's flag,,,,not sure which one. It's just not very inventive. The USA flag is a tough one. I'm sure Nike had many designs to go through. I'll still buy it to support Team US and fill Nike's pockets. Lol
