Aston Villa 13/14 Macron Home & Away Kits

Aston Villa and Macron unveiled the club's brand new home and away kits for the 2013-14 season which will be available here.

Both the home and away jerseys will offer players and fans a more slim-fit style from last season, offering maximum comfort.

The Club announced that Dafabet, an Asian online betting website, will be their Official Main Club Sponsor having entered into a two-year agreement. As part of the agreement, the Dafabet logo will feature on the home and away Villa shirts and the company will enjoy a host of sponsorship benefits.

Creative Football T-Shirts at Footytees.com - Featuring prints by a range of talented artists

The home shirt retains the traditional look of Villa kits from past eras, closely resembling the shirt worn in the European Cup-winning season of 1981-82. The sleeves and collarbone of the home jersey have mesh inserts that give maximum breathability to the garment. The shirt also has a striped v-neck collar and the reverse is embossed with the club's 'Prepared' motto.

The away jersey is a modern vibrant design with white and blackcurrant quarters adorning both the front and the rear. This bold new cross-colour is also incorporated into the design of the collars and cuffs. The shirt retains a vintage collar with v-neck drop, ribbed striped cuffs, side flank micromesh inserts and club's 'Prepared' motto embossed onto the rear.

Liverpool lost to Oldham. And Everton. Norwich lost to Luton. A few years ago Barnsley went on a run which saw them beat Chelsea and Liverpool. These teams are not what you would call shit.

Whoa whoa whoa there padre. Let's not bring Everton into this b/c they for one did not lose to Oldham. You better check yourself before you wreck yourself.

wow #dixie and #heskey you really are clueless about football. A team like villa that is daring enough to completely renew their squad with youth players deserves a lot of respect! theyre only going to get better from now on. Not every team can go out and buy their million pound players! I think theyre really smart sticking to their roots! so piss off!

Just because they are in the premier league doesn't mean that they are better than most teams. It just means that they are some how better than 3 other teams each year in order to stay up.

Great shirt to get relegated in :( west brom are now the top club in the midlands, by some distance.

FINALLY! A non-biased Villa fan who actually agree's that Albion are finally out of the shadow and currently the best club in the midlands! #POTM #WBA

The away kit looks great. The home kit is pretty good but would've been better if the sponsor was in all white and the logo was beside the sponsor instead of on top.

But I'm glad Villa stayed up because are pretty good kits overall that I wouldnt mind watching on tv

Macron logos ruin all the Macron kits, and some of them are fairly decent too.

Its good to see a designer go for something, some times it works (home kit) some times its not so good (away), but at least they aren't completely generic or a template.

acorns dont pay us silly money to put their name on the shirts though...

disappointing decision to have no sponsor on the kids shirts again though, cant see why they cant have acorns on them rather than nothing
Guest

Guest

Can't have kids sporting a betting company logo, same with alcohol. Personally I abhor sponsors in general (though sometimes a necessary evil), but the automatic way to make a kit look trashy is to have a gambling company / bookie on them. No class at all (or payday lenders like Wonga)

Surely, if a team's shirt clashes with an all claret kit, it will potentially also clash with a blackcurrant quartered shirt. Aaahhhh, it all necessitates a third kit.

our green kit is our 3rd

I actually think the blackcurrant colour on the away is just a shade enough darker than the claret so that it won't clash with the red kits of Man Utd, Liverpool & maybe not Arsenal but the problem is the number of PL teams with red & white striped kits & West Ham too that both kits will probably clash with which will see the 3rd kit getting more outings than the away

Wouldn't Villa just wear the home kit at the red and white striped teams? Pretty sure thats what they normally do. Definitely 3rd kit needed for West Ham and Arsenal.

It'll be interesting to see if Adidas have anything to say about the 3 stripes on the collar of the home kit.

The kits aren't bad but it's the same old problem with Macron kits; the awful logo on the shoulders!

Clever marketing by Villa. The away shirt will clash with almost everything that the home shirt does, so the third shirt will have to be made, and used. They may even have a 4th shirt, who knows?

The home shirt is nice, though

I think they're a lot better than what I was expecting. F*ckin loads better than the old Diadora and Reebok years.... and probably the Henson one as well. My favorite player was Tony Morley. I had a pic of him by my bed for years.

All really nice kits. Actually love the away shirt great change from templates looks really nice. Of course the sponsor isnt great but still thumbs up from me. Dont usually say that about macron kits still think could do without the macron shoulder logos

Awful kits. Why does macron design so many kits in the Premier League anyway. It's not like they're known for good kits.

Macron are getting pretty big here. Can't understand why? As everything they produce has a 1990's look to it.
Maybe they're the cheapest who knows.

Certainly doesn't look like the Hearts kit to me

Not a villa fan but these kits are really well designed and will be a good seller. Love the away...warrior, this a proper away kit. I think a few of the big names could learn a thing or two about kit design fron Macron.
Guest

Guest

Both nice.same as every year, will just take getting used to.

a few people have said they wish we had adidas as our supplier.
But had a look at the new westham home shirt, and it just looks disjointed and tacky with the white stripes over a sleeve different in colour to the body

Im a blues fan. And i ain't saying this cause i hate the villa. But honestly just no. I do not like these kits at all. the away one is ...umm... Alright but the other two aren't nice at all. My opinion
Guest

Guest

I dont mind macron at least they have tried with the kits unlike nike who just couldnt be arsed to do any variation at all!!Prefer last seasons home and away tops but will still have to buy these, got to put a few coppers in the villa pot!
Guest

Guest

Best Villa home kit in a long while.Collar style somehow reminds me of Liverpools new Warrior home shirt collar with the retro inserts, although i feel it would benefit with just the stripes and not the claret panels.
Guest

Guest

Buy the way im pretty sure the club dont care what the sponsor looks like on the kit. I think there more worried in how much money they get tbh. And villa just won the next gen series so i dont think they will be "shit" in a few years.
Guest

Guest

Something is not quite right with the top photo. The home looks ok and personally I do like the away but why are they promoting the away shirt in front of the home are the club not sure about the design ? Your home colours are your disguising mark as such :sigh:

I like these. Home one is a classic. Surprised Villa haven't had this style before now.

Away, initially thought was black and white. Once I noticed the close up and it was claret, it grew on me. Some daring kits for a change, Macron are slowly improving. Rather have them Nike's boring kits.

Sponsor let's it down though.

Personally I don't like big squares, and would rather see more of the sky blue in the away strip (like the Nike jersey from some years ago). Then again I'm not too pleased with the home either, in spite of the retro touches.

In my opinion Macron created some of the best kits last season for Lazio, but here they cluttered the design a bit too much.
Guest

Guest

Macron are cheap and nasty, those little men logo's fall off after a couple of washes, both shirts are too fussy, overdesigned and look naff. Wish we had Adidias or Puma, West ham and Burnley both have cooler strips than us, even Scunthorpe do as well ffs.

These are all close to being great but all have one or two details that balls them up.

Home has a great collar and cuffs but would have been better with the side panels being either thinner or wider. That said still really nice.

Away again has a lovely collar and cuffs and I love me some quarters but they mess up the front by having the white shoulder panel on the right so the top quarter is incomplete.

GK kit is really nice except for that god awful wonky collar.

These kits are the best I've seen so far this year. Macron can be a bit hit and miss but these are incredible and vast improvement on what they produced for Villa last year. Some people will always slate Macron because they're not Nike or adidas. The thing is, these are far nicer than anything the 'big' names have produced for years.
Guest

Guest

Agbonlahor looks like he weighs about 17stones in that shirt! Whats with the silly slits in the home shirt Macron?Really silly and gimmicky idea. Not a Villa fan but the eighties shirts were classic, simple designs, Claret, blue job done.

I think in the grand scheme of things good kits, apart from the sponsor they look great. (At least we're not being sponsored by an electronic cigarette company!)

As for the people slagging Villa off for being a rubbish team with rubbish kits, well sorry but kits say nothing about team performance so how you can justify us going down because of our kit... well just wow! If you're doing that then Liverpool should be in the Blue Square Bet North this time next season, for crimes against those of us blessed with the gift of sight!

I am happy that we are the flag ship club of Macron rather than the tail end of the design ladder for Nike, especially after Nike's lack on imagination with other clubs (and unfortunately national teams) this season.

As for "since when did villa play in blackcurrent", firstly 'Ray' is not being a "pedantic twat" he's merely pointing out your lack of ability to use the English language, and in an argument it might be important to not shoot yourself in the foot. The whole point of an away kit is that it is something different, and it ticks all the boxes; as you don't see any other team playing in that style/colour.

Finally, 1982 replica, brilliant! There is no harm in going back to a previous design idea. For the record, it is NOT the kit worn against Bayern Munich in Rotterdam in 1982, the remake of that kit was worn at Wembley in 2010 against Manchester United as it was our away kit for 2009-2010 season! I was born 11 years after the European Cup win and even I know that's not the shirt design we won in!

I don't understand the overwhelming support for the away kit. What am I missing? I like that Villa has unique kits but originality doesn't give you an excuse to make an ugly kit. Also, outlining the sponsor and having the away colors clash with the badge make what's supposed to be simple look very busy,

Love em both. Better than my teams rank efforts anyway (Liverpool). I suspect Villa will go on to be a great team again over the next 5 years and I tip my cap to them and their new youth/young recruitment policy
