This is the new adidas Bayern Munich Away kit, to be worn as the German Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Uefa Champions League winners aim to defend their titles in the 2013-14 season.

Styled on the traditional Bavarian wear of "Lederhosen", the kit comes with the motto "More Bayern than ever before", and true to the area's traditions in this regard, the players also sported Alpine parade jackets and a 'jaunty' hat to complete the look on the launch.

Creative Football T-Shirts at Footytees.com - Featuring prints by a range of talented artists

Released to tie in with the world famous upcoming Oktoberfest celebrations, the club will be taking Bavaria wherever they go across Germany and possibly in their European travels too, when the Home kit and Third kits are not suitable.

The shirt is white with brown and green details, the shorts in brown with gold stripes and the socks are white with green and grey.  The shirt carries the T (Telekom) sponsor.

Thanks to Joe.

Like it that Adidas and Bayern can have a bit of fun with a German stereotype and come out with a neat looking kit

A German stereotype?

No, that's just a Bavarian one!

Well Scotland is within the boundaries of the U. K. but they would surely moan about English stereotypes...

Of course they would and they should.
I don't see any similarities here.
Bavarians are Germans but Scots are not English.

But are Scots Brits? And is it a common stereotype for Britons to wear a kilt?

Scotland are one of four countries in Britain, it's a stereotype for Scots to wear kilts, English are bowler hats, Welsh are sheep shaggers and over expensive wingers  not sure about Northern Ireland though drunks maybe

Technically, it's not a country but a state. And the same goes for Bavaria in Germany. Silly stereotypes. But people from a different area want to differenciate.

No Scotland definitely is it's own country just with better stereotypes than England, I'd rather have a kilt than a bowler hat any day

I take it the green trim is a tribute to Celtic, Scotland's most successful club.

See you in the CL Bayern!

1860 did a funky Oktoberfest kit last year, complete with brown shorts. And don't forget St Pauli wear brown all the time.

Idea is excellent, but too many colours.

Why the grey on the socks but not elsewhere?

Its bavarian lederhosen. They wear socks which only comes on the calves, which are grey. So these socks make a play on that style of lederhosen. Brilliant.

One of the worst examples of football marketing ever! The amazing thing is it's not remotely tongue in cheek as Adidas would never set out to do something ironic. Lets hope they get to the Champions League final again and play a team in red so they have to wear this concoction complete with the presentation jackets!
