Blackburn Rovers 13/14 Nike Home Football Shirt

Blackburn Rovers 13/14 Nike Home Football Shirt

This is the new Blackburn Rovers Home football shirt made by Nike which will be available here.

Rovers fans will get their first chance to purchase the brand new 2013-14 home kit this coming Tuesday.

The eagerly-anticipated launch sees the iconic blue-and-white halves in tandem with the famous Nike swoosh for the first time.

Creative Football T-Shirts at Footytees.com - Featuring prints by a range of talented artists

In acknowledgement of the Football League’s 125th anniversary celebrations – and Rovers’ status as one of the 12 founder member clubs – Nike have reverted back to the original orientation of the famous blue-and-white halves, which was the predominant form of the shirt until 1942.

This season also marks the 100-year anniversary of Rovers’ First Division title success in 1913-14.

Actually looks really nice with Nike! Don't usually like Blackburn kits that much.

This year Nike's kits are far better than Adidias', for the first time in a while. Especially that ******* wing template!

Not sure if manufacturers no longer can be bothered designing different kits or are just scared of trying anything different

Excellent, how refreshing to see a shirt without some nasty betting (or any other) form of sponsorship. Blackburn is one of those classic kits, good job Nike.

Just read the text, I don't think the halves have anything to do with the Football League's 125th anniversary, I think it's just the way of the Nike template

You are wrong, the halves have nothing to do with a Nike template. Traditionally, the blue half was on the right and the white was on the left - you know, when Rovers were one of the teams that founded the Football League 125 years ago. Do you think it is just a coincidence that we reverted back to the original colours upon the 125th Anniversary?

That being said, a traditional Lancashire Rose instead of the club badge would have been the finishing touch,

Absolutely gorgeous shirt to celebrate the league that Blackburn helped founded 125 years ago. My only gripes are that it will be ruined by a sponsor, and I think Blackburn and Nike missed a trick by not reverting to the traditional Lancashire Rose, instead of placing the club emblem on the front - that would have been the finishing touch on the shirt. However, those are small gripes; this is the best kit Rovers have produced in a long, long time. Kudos, Nike!

As a Rovers fan I'm so impressed with how fresh and classy it looks. Using tradition to swap the halves around is great idea and like a few people have said a traditional Lancashire rose would of topped it off. I'm praying we don't have an awful sponsor put on it to ruin it.

Only problem I have is that you can get the exact same shirt of pro direct for £10, so to be charged £32.99 for a Rovers badge is annoying, oh well COYB.

Quality. Rovers have one of the most distinctive kits in English football... it's more or less identical to the one they wore 138 years ago.

....in what way? That there is a thin white line on the blue collar? That the blue half is on the left side of the shirt? That there are two pointless lines at the top of the back? Oh, wait... not identical in the slightest.

wow. really like this. im not a massive fan of most nike shirts, but ive found that the simplest designs are generally their best. And this kit looks so simple and is really nice. That said it would be pretty tough to muck up blue and white halves!

like the halves swapped over as well. havent bought a rovers shirt for years but ill definately be buying this one.

For once, Nike gets it right. Fair play to 'em. Although I wish the under skins the bloke is wearing were part of the kit, because the sleeve being blue and then white looked good.
