Sunderland 13/14 Adidas Away Football Shirt

Sunderland 13/14 Adidas Away Football Shirt

Sunderland has unveiled its new Adidas away kit for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season, which will be available here.

With technical cut lines and dynamic styling, the adidas shirt is fashioned from Climalite - a light, breathable fabric worn close to the skin to conduct heat and sweat away from the body, keeping the wearer cool and dry in warm conditions.

Creative Football T-Shirts at Footytees.com - Featuring prints by a range of talented artists

The yellow and navy shirt features a rounded collar, traditional club crest and ‘Bidvest’ logo across the chest. The shirt is complemented with navy shorts with yellow trim and navy and yellow socks.

Adult shirts will be priced at £45, which represents a 10% reduction on last season’s price.

Republic of Ireland international John O’Shea, who was one of the Black Cats stars chosen to model the kit at a recent photoshoot, said: “It’s a really dynamic design and a very bold colour combination, which I’m sure our fans will love.”

Thanks to David

Plus two simple looking players. Seriously they look like a pair of smackheads! Aren't footballers supposed to be the pinnacle of fitness and health? These pair look like they should be wearing tracksuits and carrying a car stereo whilst drinking from a can of special brew.

Well Adidas supplies the kits for hundreds of teams worldwide. Factoring in home, away, third and goalkeeper kits for each team, Adidas must produce thousands of kits every year. Do you really think it's reasonable to expect Adidas to produce thousands of completely unique designs year after year? It's just not possible.

I don't think unique designs for all are feasible but you'd think that adidas/nike/puma would approach the top flight teams with a bit more caution.

Stoke, Sunderland and Hull will all be playing on the world stage next season in the same kit. Adidas should have spotted this and realised that bespoke kits for these three teams would provide them with a more commercial success and improve their brand profile at club level.

I reckon that all top flight teams should get unique shirts, regardless of their percieved stature as a club. Sunderland are arguably a much bigger club than Hull but putting them in the same shirts as Bolton who only play the occasional televised match in the Championship is just short sighted.

NB: not saying Bolton are a small club or that Hull are bigger, just illustrating a point.

True, But if im right all them kits are away kits. They arent really the main focus. If adidas can produce bespoke home kits for all top flight clubs then i think adidas will be on the right track.

How many teams get unique designs though? Probably about 1% of Adidas's entire roster. Getting a template away kit doesn't make anyone "shit".

Is it me or are the sponsors really high up this year, like going across the chest rather than towards the middle of the shirt? Everything looks bunched up towards the top, takes the eye away from the badge which should be the main feature?

do you really think, that adidas could offer different templates to each club? they have hundreds of teams, which means they´d need hundreds of templates. i suppose, that some teams even have the same kit (same template, same colour), but the crest makes it unique. So, I don´t really care about templates to be honest. At least they have some different templates and not just the one like Nike has for all their clubs.

There is nothing wrong with templates but they need to be used well. The last away kit (the blue and white one) that umbro made for Sunderland was the same template as Rangers away amd Ath. Bilbao away from that season. But umbro used them in such a way that each kit seemed unique. adidas aren't so good at doing this with their templates. And their colour schemes are terrible- look at this monstrosity: mustard yellow, orange and navy blue. It looks like a 5 year old has been allowed to pick the colours

You're right there- the club apparently has a set of criteria relating to width of stripes on the home shirt etc. But the club can only approve what adidas suggests- and if adidas only suggests crap like this...

We should drop the whole template argument altogether. Companies will use them -what matters is how.

In this case I think it works: yellow tops/blue shorts look good on the pitch, and the red touch is nice. Would have enjoyed yellow socks better but in general good effort from adidas.

Oh my !!! Another shirt with them same template again.
When is this going to stop. I have stopped buy any Sunderland jersey since they switched over to adidas.
Although no one expect them to make a unique kit for each and every team... but they should have themselves at least 6 ~7 template that team can choose from.
With most leagues having 16 to 20 teams in a division, at least we would see some variation.
Common 6 to 7 templates is not a lot to ask for , for a Company the size of adidas.

This looks more Watford than the actual Watford kit does this season yeh ok as people are saying its navy blue but it doesn't matter the stripes are still black and take one look at watfords historical kits lets just hope Watford and Sunderland are two of the bottom teams come the end of the new season
