Sunderland 13/14 Adidas Home Football Shirt

Sunderland AFC has unveiled its new Adidas home kit for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season, which will be available here.

The Black Cats traditional red and white striped shirt will feature a v-neck this season, complemented by black shorts with red stripes and black socks.

Fans will get their first chance to see Paolo Di Canio’s side sporting the new kit when Sunderland travel to Hong Kong later this month to participate in the Barclays Asia Trophy alongside Spurs and Manchester City.

Adult shirts are priced at £45, which represents a 10% reduction on last season’s price.

The new 13/14 Away kit and goalkeeper strip has also been revealed.

Yes it is what do you think those big white things are?

Its a completely different template. Look at the Hull kit- that's the wings template. On this the white patches on the sleeve are in a different position and the collar is completely different.

Yep looked at the sleeves and looked at the other kits with the wings template and they are clearly not the same.

On behalf of most Southampton fans- we're jealous!! But good to know adidas can actually do stripes, as it gives us hope for next year's kit!

DID'NT SEE THE NEW BRENTFORD KIT ABOUT A MONTH AGO THEN, LOOKS MORE LIKE A SCUM KIT THAN THAT PILE OF CRAP ADIDAS DID FOR YOU

Yes! Looks like Sunderland got lucky here. This is the best kit from adidas for EPL sides thus far this season. Nice clean traditional look. Agree with Andyyy and Miguel that the sponsor would look better if its not boxed up.
I am still wearing the umbro range and was thinking of boycotting adidas if its still that shitty wing design. Now I am certainly buying the Home shirt :-) . I will give the away strip a miss though.

To be honest I have not seen this template before. It hasn't got the wings like a few have said. Also the collar is something different then I have seen on other adidas kits this season. Very good effort adidas! SAFC fans should be pleased with this.

Looks pretty sharp.
As a Sunderland fan though, I'd prefer it if the neckline was red.
A small detail I know, but the white at the neck and on the sleeves makes it feel more like a Southampton, or PSV kit.
Still, pretty nice kit.
Just need some good summer signings now to fill it.

Not too bad stripes work well with the Adidas wing template... I give it 6.5/10 :-)

Except it isn't the wings template!! Look at west brooms away and see the difference. I agree with teddy bear, I personally have not seen this template before. I'll give it a 8.5/10, the boxed sponsor spoils it a little.

Its clearly not the batwing template- the collar and the sleeves are completely different. If you can't see that you need your eyes testing.

SAFC away kit this year is terrible so I was expecting more of the same for the home. But this is pretty good. Is West Brom's home out yet? Last year they had the same template as us- hope that doesn't happen again this year.

Stoke first used red and white stripes In 1883, Sunderland in 1887 with stoke being the first user wearing red and white stripes makes you look like stoke not the other way around

When ya think of red and white striped shirts ya think of Sunderland not stoke!

Very pleased with that. Was worried we'd get the winged template (ala Hull home, WBA away, Swansea home, S'hampton home) but we've somehow escaped. Clean, crisp design with a South-American feel to it. Canny 8)

Same template as 90% of other kits this year, another rubbish effort our home kit should have more red stripes than white and red neck badge too low and sponsor looks rubbish price reduction for adults but more expensive for kids last year £35 this year £40 and they do not get the socks and can't get them for any kid under size 2 the reason for more money because they have the sponsor on poor excuse still buy it though sunderland till I die

Its not the same template as 90% of other clubs. Someone put on one of the SAFC forums that there's only us, Marseille and Ajax away (or something like that) with this template. I don't know how true that is but like plenty of people keep saying, this IS NOT the wings template.

A few people have complained about the ridiculous placing of the badge on his template, west brom also the same.

Check out last seasons Lyon home shirt. The lower down badge means there is room for a sponsor to go above it!

Still looks shit though!

With Chelsea, this is the only premier league adidas team with a template that is used by top european clubs. Same as Ajax away.

To be fair to the Mackems, adidas must have realised how big a club Sunderland are really. Maybe they don't deserve generic templates like the west broms, hulls, stokes and fulhams. Sunderland averaged 40000 attendances last season so they must be one of the clubs with a lot of shirt sales. Good on them I say. Oh and cheers for the Poznan lads ;-)
