The new third kit was worn for the first time in the playoff game heading to the World Cup Brazil 2014 between Mexico and Jamaica at the Estadio Azteca.

I could imagine how the conversation went between the company execs:

Adidas: "Hey, what will you guys do for the new kit for 2013? We are feeling lazy and can't come up with new ideas."
Nike: "We are feeling lazy too."
Adidas: "Why don't both of us recycle old designs and change the color a little bit and sell them as new shirts?"
Nike: " Great idea!! Those dumb consumers will buy any crap we pump out..."

The flaw in that logic being the assumption that anyone would actually buy this boring shirt when Mexico has so many better ones. They didn't even play well in it, only managing a draw at home against Jamaica.

See. This is what I mean. Adidas a European brand gets better reception just for the the sole reason that they are European. There is a very disgusting bias on this site against Nike

The reaction is exactly the same as those against Nike!
My only bias is against bad, lazy design. I dont care which logo it has emblazoned all over it. More decent, original designs are needed, and quality materials used. Not thin, crappy cheap polyester rubbish..

Actually who started with this 3rd kit nonsense? for example, if Liverpool dont qualify for Europe next season, whats the use of a 3rd kit? I am a Liverpool fan and I counted that this year 3rd kit was only worn 4 times (?) this year, once in the PL and thrice in UEFA and friendlies.

This is just a gimmick to rip people off , middle class with kids. but again, no one is forcing us to buy it, im just arguing the logic of a 3rd kit.

In the NBA, La Lakers have a 3rd kit all white which they only use it on Sundays, but they do play at least 72 games a season....

The mind boggles!!!

Why the bias against Nike? Because, they don't give a shit about football. Its always been about the money. Don't get me wrong, of course companies are there to make money but, with some there is history, heritage, passion about the game of football. Umbro doesn't and didn't do hockey our baseball. There is a reason for that and sometimes its not because they can't, its because they won't.

The NHL is supplied by Reebok, and Major League Baseball is supplied by Majestic Athletic. Adidas supply the NBA Nike only started supplying the American Football NFL this year.

Aside from general athletics and golf, football is Nike's bread and butter.
