Toronto FC 2013 Adidas Home Football Shirt

Toronto FC unveiled its new home kit on Tuesday and the new feature immediately jumps out at you: the Canadian maple leaf, made up of geometric shapes meant to represent the multiple parts of the organization, including the supporters.

The 2013 shirt was revealed during a private kickoff party held at the Berkeley Church as part of the first edition of MLS Jersey Week and will be available here.

"One of the great things in talking with the ownership group about what this jersey should be, and what they want it to be, they were interested in how can we communicate with the fans that they all make up part of the team itself," said adidas product manager Mike Walker. "So we came up with this great design where there's different geometric shapes that come together to create a maple leaf on the front of the jersey which is what they're traditionally known for."

Another feature: the club slogan "All For One" is highlighted on the back of the kit. The club will maintain the same secondary kit from 2012.

Supporters with a keen eye will also pick up on the slight difference in the colors compared to past editions of the home kit.

"They're updating their colors a little bit to incororate that new color of the new red and the new gray and bringing it together into really an artistic kit that still is their traditional red – they are the Reds – and brings that to life."

Just the color alone makes the kit. :-?

Looks much better and cleaner without the black stitching (as modeled by players) than with.

Funny how Toronto feels like they have to represent the rest of Canada. I must admit, nice jersey!

best kit of the year so far, i just wish the sponsor was smaller and symmetrical to a degree it encroaches on the club crest

This is a GREAT shirt but this would've served soooo much better as a team Canada shirt not TFC and I'm from Toronto saying this. If Toronto was still the only Canadian team in the MLS this would be appropriate but not now when there's Montreal and Vancouver so unless they also get a similar design in their colours its kind of excluding their Canadian identity too.
But still, fantastic shirt! well done adidas!

I really wonder how the game designers will replicate such a vividly-detailed shirt, for the game.

My main problem is when you look at the players wearing it, it just looks like they're all sweaty.

For me the maple leaf would have been enough. Looks good, but a little bit all over the place.

I live in Montreal, not many lovers of the maple leaf here though...

This reminds me of a couple of Aberdeen kits in the 90s, which their fans weren't too fond of. I personally don't like ut.

This is till now the best kit of the MLS i have seen for this year. Last season for my it was LA Galaxy with the best but till now it's absolutely Toronto FC with the best.

Up close there's way too much going on. From a distance, as someone else pointed out, the players just look sweaty. A crap jersey for a crap team :-x .

I am not much of a fan of this shirt - too much pattern. The maple leaf looks like a big sweat stain, when you see the players from a distance on the pitch.

Although I am from Toronto - I hate to admit that I prefer the Impact jersey.

Interesting that Toronto sports clubs usually wear blue and Montreal sports clubs wear red - except when it comes to soccer.

They should learn to keep the first jersey clean.

Would have been a more appropriate as a 3rd jersey (e.g. Cup games or Canada Day game).
