The Yellow Army has spoken and the answer is stripes.

A recent poll conducted by Torquay United fans has seen Shirt G chosen from seven possible designs for the new home strip to be worn next season.

“We are delighted with the response to the shirt vote for next season,” said United managing director Bill Phillips.

“To pool more than 1,600 votes between the Herald Express and our own online vote is truly incredible and indicative of how much fans care for their club.

“We have already ordered samples of Shirt G, the outstanding choice from supporters, and also Shirt C, which was runner-up. We are very excited to see how the shirt looks and feels in reality, and Torquay United would like to thank all fans for taking part in the voting process.”

Not surprised with the vote choice, retro kit from a few years ago. Nice that fans can get a say on the home shirt rather than an away/3rd kit!

I like it, although I don't know what those shadows are about. They make it a bit too busy. Nice though.

I like the way they say that they'll be getting a sample of this shirt and also shirt C. So if they don't like it they can always go with the runner up!

If you remove all logos it could be good strip, but all logos (sponsor, manufacturer and club) are terrible.

I'd hope the shirt sponsor's logo is smaller on the real shirt. If it is,then it's a cracker of a shirt.

It's easy to see why this one won. It may not have been the best of the bunch, but the other shirts were very similar with only minor alterations. They split the yellow shirt vote, and this shirt, unique among it's peers, won the day.

I think the shirt looks a bit silly, honestly. The floppy blue collar paired with white and yellow stripes that somewhat evokes the infamous creamsicle kits that Newcastle wore a couple of years back. Still, if Torquay play well in it, most things will be overlooked.

It won because it has been worn twice in the past...1991/93 and 2000/2002 and both times was a popular strip. My problem with this design is that it is an exact replica again. The 2000 version was identical to the 91 version, other than sponsor and supplier. It seems the club think, that if you are to have yellow and white stripes it can only be in this form. I like the yellow and white stripes, but it can be in a slightly different style.

is the shadow part of the shirt?

just a shadow added to all the possible kit designs - it won't be a feature of the actual kit
