River Plate 2014-15 Adidas Home Football Shirt

This is the new Club Atlético River Plate Home football shirt and kit, by adidas, for the Argentine side's matches over the coming months.

Utilising the returning adidas style of their famous three stripes as hoops running horizontally around the sleeves - not seen regularly on football shirts for nearly two decades - the shirt is otherwise in keeping with the classic River look.

The diagional sash in red is present and correct, and complemented with the minimalism elsewhere - a neat roundneck collar, the adidas logo in red, the BBVA sponsor's logo unobtrusive in white-bordered black and just the now familiar curved strip on the upper back. In addition, the sash reappears on the back, with a the legend "el mas grande" appearing just below the collar on the rear.

The shorts are very recognisibly River, with red (vertical) stripes on black, with white trim. The socks also repeat the famous sash in a novel new look.

Unique it may be but fundamentally not good enough

Finally someone at Adidas shows some imagination!

Just goes to prove, as with monkey and typewriters, if you give an infinite number of designers an infinite number of opportunities, eventually someone will produce a work of art!

    Beautiful!

It'd be hard to mess with a design classic like River Plate's but adidas have surpassed themselves with this one.

    Just beautiful!

At last an Adidas shirt with no arm spaghetti. And it looks excellent too.
