La Liga’s Deportivo Alavés have unveiled their new, 2020-21 season Centenary Away kit by Kelme.

The shirt is primarily in red - from a frontal perspective, at least - and references a popular kit from the past with a much noted resemblance to the Ajax design.

With the red on the torso flanked by two thinner blue stripes as well as white - also repeated on the sleeves - the shirt perhaps also suggests Paris Saint-Germain or even Willem II. The back, conversely, is largely plain, with the Basque flag high up.

The white shorts are largely plain, while the socks are similarly styled to the shirt. The Betway sponsor appears on the shirt in black, while further embellishment is in blue and white, including the centenary details and the new club crest.

It's overdesigned and loud (in the way kits from the 90s were) but also kinda cool.

This is the biggest risk of the summer so far, which works.

What a weirdly unexpected design. Fair play to Kelme. It's paid off.

I wasn’t expecting this to look good, but Kelme delivered. Well done Kelme.
