Deportivo de La Coruña have launched their new “Galicia” shirt for 2020-21.

Celebrating the autonomous region of Spain in which La Coruña is situated, and indeed the Galician nationality, the Segunda División side’s shirt carries a stylised version of the Galician flag’s sash. This time, this is presented with a watery brush stroke effect, and whilst the tribute has been made before, on this occasion the motif appears on the rear of the shirt also.

To retain focus on the concept, the rest of the shirt is relatively understated. The Macron “Hero” logo and Dépor crest are rendered in black only, the latter on the subtly textured white and grey base, and the overlapping v-neck and cuff trim is minimally blue and black respectively.

The “Estrella Galicia” alcohol-free lager sponsorship logo has similar colouring to not be obtrusive, a philosophy which is echoed in the “Abanca” branding on the back and the small “Forza Dépor” legend below the neck. The LaLiga patch and “Luckia” sleeve sponsor somewhat miss the memo, both appearing in full colour.

What a shirt! Is Macron going to design any bad kits this season?
