Establishing a West Ham United Museum had been the dream of Chairman Terence Brown and his fellow Director, Charles Warner, since the Club's Centenary Year of 1995. It was during this time the Club made an appeal for donations to help make that dream a reality. "I can assure all supporters who made contributions that every penny went into this massive project that has cost around £4 million." Terence Brown. The Museum provides fans of all ages with a unique and fascinating insight into the history of the Club, from its foundation in 1895 as The Thames Iron Works FC to its present position as one of the country's most famous and popular teams. Stepping inside the Museum you are immediately whisked back in time to over a century ago when workers from the famous Thames Iron Works and Shipbuilding Company, funded by Arnold Hills, established a local football team. From there you can chart the fascinating rise of West Ham United through the pioneering generations of Syd King and Charlie Paynter, the Club¹s first two managers, and the glory years of Ron Greenwood and Bobby Moore, right through to the present day as West Ham United embarks on a new era of growth. The focal point of the Museum is the amazing Champions Collection of medals, caps, jerseys and memorabilia (pictured above left) won by three of the Hammers greatest stars Bobby Moore, Sir Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, who helped England lift the World Cup in 1966. Included, of course, are the three World Cup winners medals. Museum Opening Times
