True colours doesn't need an introduction, everyone who knows his shirts, knows the excellent work of John Devlin in the form of 2 books called True Colours. He did have a website for years but now it's totally renewed and interactive. available here at: truecoloursfootballkits.com As well as reproducing extracts from the TRUE COLOURS books, his new site will also feature exlusive articles about the fascinating world of football shirts history along with all the news of the all the latest kits as they are released. Plus you can find out more about the author and illustrator of the books, John Devlin and what’s next in the True Colours series. Since volume 1 was published in 2005 there has been a great amount of interest in the subject of football kit history with several new sites appearing but the TRUE COLOURS series of books is the only archive of football kit history that also includes all away and third kits in fine detail. It is also the only kit archive to be officially approved by all the clubs, sportswear manufacturers and sponsors featured. Interest in True Colours and football kit history has grown since True Colours 2 was published and John has been called on for his opinion on kits by clubs and sportswear companies alike. His work has appeared in Four Four Two, Shoot, When Saturday Comes, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Star, Leeds Leeds Leeds magazine, Loaded and The Daily Record. He was also asked to act as a judge for the Football League’s 2007 ‘Best Kit Award’. The eventual winner, Burnley’s 06–07 away kit, was solidly endorsed by John. Recently he was interviewed by Chelsea TV as part of a documentary on the club’s kits through the years.
