Feyenoord Centenary 2008 Kappa shirts E-mail
Tuesday, 08 January 2008

Wim Jansen and Rinus Israel received the shirts from general manager Eric Gudde, which gave this event a historical touch. Jansen and Israel won the 1970 Europe Cup 1 against Celtic in a shirt that was used as inspiration for the centenary shirts.

These are the new Feyenoord home and away centenary football shirts for 2008. The shirts are made by kappa to celebrate the club's 100th birthday.

The away shirt of 1970 has many similarities with the new Feyenoord shirt for the upcoming season. The green colour and white collar were inspired by the creation of the past. Both shirts have a golden embroidered Fyenoord logo, which is a tradition restored in honor , and the wish of many supporters.

Great traditional shirts! Finally the golden crest is back. I also like the traditional green away shirt in the colours of the City of Rotterdam. The only negative aspects are the sponsorlogos on the sleave.....

thank god ajax makes drastic changes every year.. damn all they do is change the collar every year.

Well, what else did you expect from Kappa?

All they do is recycle their kit designs and change the collars about to make it a "new" design. The home shirt for instance, is very similar to the kit worn in 05/06, which in turn was identical to the kit of 01/02!

1970 great finally and by the way 05-06 was totally white with a green a few green parts but except the colour totally different, look ad ajax they have the same design for three jears or something and most of the the time its red and black because of A,dam and rotterdam is green so I´M LOVING IT
Feyenoord Nr 12  - Feyenoord's home kit can't change   |2008-09-18
The reason the feyenoord red & white kit never changes is because it's not up for change, except for small fashionable changes we always see.

The feyenoord supporters wouldn't tolerate a shift in home kits and therefore is never changed.

that said; I've got 5 different red-white feyenoord kits who all look very different to me (especially v.persie '02, kuyt '04)

I like the new green-white but needed to see 'em play in it at least once before losing the comparison with last years AZ kit
