besides no one even plays football in the states anyway.
Even Millwall is better than there national team
Who are the USA kidding.A Crap shirt for a crap football team.A shirt fitting the country...un-inspiring and dull
I\'m fully aware that hyperbole can be an effective illustrative device when trying to make a point, but I\'m in the mood to call you on your bluff: Zak Whitbread is an American on the books at Millwall. He gets some playing time for his club, but never so much as a sniff from the national team. That\'s because he\'s not very good.
To compare a national team that is slowly (but steadily) coming into its own to a League One side in a relegation fight is as stupid as not knowing the difference between \"their\" and \"there.\"
\"Americans don\'t even like soccer\" isn\'t going to be of much consolation when we start beating you at your own game over the coming years. Such unqualified arrogance from a nation that can\'t qualify for its own regional tournament is a bit short-sighted and hypocritical, don\'t you think?
But yeah, it\'s an ugly shirt.
Go USA Superstars.
Your Hyperbole theory is as much of an argument as Weapons of Mass destruction.
You guys talk the talk...but cannot walk the walk
You have a league full of Premiership
veterans and OAP\'s from all across Europe.
Surely this cannot be good for your non-descript league
Emrace the beautiful game..don\'t be jealous
There\'s no theory: saying the US National Team could not beat a struggling League One side is a ridiculous exaggeration.
As for your Superstar quip, I shouldn\'t need to point out that having a team full of name players didn\'t do England much good in your Euro qualifiers. Curious.
I believe the US are taking the right steps towards becoming a legitimate footballing nation, \"embracing the game,\" if you will. While soccer (taken from \"Association Football\" -- your word) will likely never be the premier sport among the American populace, it is quickly becoming more respected in our own country. Furthermore, our domestic league is growing in leaps and bounds. It may not be a top league, but given its young age, that should not be expected. To compare MLS to the EPL is apples and oranges.
As far as I can tell, it\'s the British who are failing to \"embrace\" a newfound American interest in \"their\" sport. That\'s fine by me. Your elitism and arrogance will continue to be your own undoing.
Apples and Oranges is it ?
One cannot comprehend the extent of the defiance from our cousins across the pond , in relation to the promotion of a relatively new garment.It\'s not exactly Saville Row old chap.
There appears to be the petulance of a young child questioning its father.Surely we would not be as so arrogant to advise the USA of the legalities of Baseball , nor the theories behind set plays within the real US FOOTBALL.Its just not cricket old boy
Jealously maifests itself in many forms , none of which are appealing or proactive
This tit-for-tat must halt immediately.
Shake hands like gentlemen and begone with you.If there is no satisfactory outcome , then pistols at dawn it must be old chap.Settle this like gentlemen.
One cannot await the day when beautiful old England , in all her majesty and regalness , shall step onto the beloved green turf.To await battle with the Republic.
Until then , dear sir , I bid you a fond adieu
Unfortunately, that argument isn\'t going to do our case much good. What we accomplished almost 60 years ago with a team of immigrants is no more relevant to our current situation than England\'s past exploits are to theirs.
What\'s more, everybody knows the FIFA rankings are a joke. Truth be told, we don\'t yet deserve to be ranked with the top teams in world football -- we aren\'t there yet. In order to be one of the Top 10 teams, a national team should be consistently able to challenge the other teams in that group and consistently able to beat any team outside that group. Right now, I think we\'re a Top 25 team with room for rapid improvement.
Neither should qualifying for the World Cup be considered an exploit when, outside of Mexico, our competition comes from the likes of Honduras and Guatemala. Of course, we\'re going to qualify for the World Cup.
However, what people seem to be missing, or at least unwilling to recognize, is that football in our country is enjoying an unprecedented period of sustainable growth. Interest in the sport is at an all-time high, and US Soccer and MLS, as institutions, are taking the right steps to ensure our growth into a legitimate footballing nation. There is a talented pool of youngsters coming to the fore, and the outlook for the future is bright.
Nobody seems to be so eager to detract from that as the Brits, but I chalk that up to general anti-American sentiment, typical British arrogance, a cultural disposition towards extreme, polarized opinion, and perhaps a bit of insecurity. Therefore, I wouldn\'t be too worried about it. Positive trends and results will speak for themselves.
I think the progress of our U-23s in the Olympics in conjunction with summer friendlies against England, Spain, and potentially Argentina will be a better barometer of how our current national squad stack up against top teams and England.
This really is a rather , some what , troubling little matter , is it not.
Are we not here , as a collective , to discuss the aesthetics of this garment ?
There appears to be a general state of sabre rattling and sniping...not a very gentlemanly act...from the Republican quarters from across the Atlantic.
Gentlemen we are and gentlemen we must continue to be.It is in our blood and breeding. The accusations of \' arrogance \' and \' polarized opions \' are not presented or argued in a professional manner. It appears to be generally expressed as anti-colonial with a broad painting of discimination against the masses.
One , concludes , that the Allies are starting to fray around the edges.
In reference to the garment. Perusal of other garments noted on this site , especially that of Her Majesties team , are all of a superior design concept. With the use of fabric and contour enhancing the garments ten-fold.
Until next time...I bid you all a fond adieu
