These rare football boots where up for auction at Bonhams Sporting Memorabilia auction - CHESTER, 27 Feb 2008 Lot No: 286 Alan Ball's white boots Hummel white football boots with 2 black stripes, each boot signed to inside by Alan Ball. Lot No: 212 Bobby Moore limited edition (No.1 of 8) bronze football boot Life size sculpture modelled on Bobby Moores left boot which was worn by him during the World Cup final on July 30th, 1966. Specially sculpted by Philip Jackson MA FRBS FRSA. C.O.A from the Bobby Moore fund signed by Stephanie Moore. Footnote: Moore was the leader of the side which gave English football its crowning glory and established him as a magnificent player, gentleman and sporting icon. With all their games at Wembley, England had got through their group with little trouble, beating Argentina in the quarter finals, Portugal in the semis and West Germany in the final.
Lot No: 246 Ryan Giggs signed Charity Shield worn boots This pair of Reebok boots were worn by Ryan for the Charity Shield 1994. Ryan also continued to wear these for the 1994/1995 season and a letter confirming this from his agent is included along with some grass still attached to the bottom of the boot! Footnote: Ryan Giggs has played the second highest number of competitive games for Manchester United (second only to Bobby Charlton who made 759 appearances - 2 as substitute) and he should beat this record during the current season barring any serious injuries. He holds the club record of team trophies won by a player (23).Since 1992, he has collected nine Premier League winners' medals, four FA Cup winner's medals, two League Cup winner's medals and one Champions League winner's medal.
